    I have the XD.40 in all black. I REALLY like it. Get the light for the end of it too, its sic. I used to have a two-tone HK USP Sub Compact .40 and this time I opted for all black. Its more incognito. Also, the xd's (in my opinion) look funny two tone because of the shrunken size. And if you put the bigger magazine in it, it looks even funnier.
    Good luck! I love the gun :)

    this is true. however the way the XD is designed. if your holding the gun properly and pull the trigger it will fire. so please explain to me how these types of safeties are hindering using the gun properly?

    I stippled the grip(Front strap, palm and thumb grip.) I left the back strap alone for drawing purposes. For home protection or concealment, id stick to black.

    My other baby. . . Just another option:.

    like i said, i finally got the gun a while back, but finally heres the pic of it. went ahead and got all black with a 5 inch barrel and compact handle. i believe the salesperson also said that it was on display at the store so there is slight wear on the slide and around ejector port. but its a great gun and simple and fun to shoot :D n my dad liked it so much that he got a 4 inch XD9 about a month later..

    If you find any of the stubby mags for the xd .45, pm me. I only have one stubby and four of the full size. I bought my XD .45 at Champions. I like the fact it fits in the same holster as my XD .40

    it is pretty awesome...ive only shot about 150 rounds with it. kinda tough finding time to get to the range to shoot it and spending a bunch of money on ammo

    I love the design. Both the grip and trigger safeties are passive... you don't have to think about them or wonder if they're "on" or "off". If you're holding the weapon properly, and pull the trigger straight back, it will fire. (BTW, that button behind the trigger is not a safety... it's the mag release).

    From the Springfield website:
    "The Ultra Safety Assurance trigger system guards against accidental discharge from dropping or bumping by locking the XD's trigger in place until direct, rearward pressure is applied."

    "The Grip Safety allows the XD to fire only when the shooter has a firm grip on the pistol."

    Glocks are obviously great guns too, but I much prefer the grip angle of the XD. To me it feels much more natural to point. That's obviously personal preference though... some people prefer the Glock. The grip fits my hand perfectly too. It just felt perfect from the moment I first picked it up. The feel, the ergos, the balance... everything about it. Like it was made for me. I've put over 1000 rounds through it (various ammo types) and have yet to experience the slightest hiccup of any kind. Fantastic gun.

    The XD is nice but, IMHO, you just can't beat a .45 stoked with 165gr Corbons at 600+ foot pounds of energy.

    These are my weapons of choice;

    Custom Caspian 5" .45, Sig Sauer 9mm P226, Kimber Pro Carry .45

    I recommend that holster the most. It's darn near perfect. I traded mine away and I regret it. I'll be getting another soon though.
