XD .45 Color help

PackerfanXD. I bought one of the first batch when Mark first started. I think I paid $45. They're a bit more pricey now but worth every cent.

 

This is the color I chose its similiar to the color on My Sig P220. I have the Combat one. Nice lookin pistol .When do you look at getting one?

 

Buy whatever color you like. They are all flat finished (I think) and none of them will reflect light.

My $0.02, I would not feel adequately protected fighting a 500 lb hog with a 45 acp. I'd want hard cast bullets in a revolver. A long gun would be better but I know they're not real convenient to drag around. You're not going to get enough penetration on him. You may hit him in the head but that's a hell of a lot easier said than done. Even if you do hit him in the head, I've heard of several stories of bullets ricocheting off thick animal skulls.

 

Some of these guys have watched way too many movies.

First, the bad guy will not see the color first. He will see movement first, regardless of color. If it's so dark he can see a flat green gun but not a flat black gun, you have no business shooting anyway.

Second, if you are certain somebody IS in the house. Anyone with half a brain would not go after him. Get to your family and back into a room with one way in and one way out. Take cover and call 911. Wait for the police and yell that they are coming. If he comes in the room, blaze away with whatever damn colored gun you have.

If you're holed up in a corner and he comes to you, you could fill him full of holes with God awful, pearl gripped, pink gun.

Again, to the OP, buy whatever color you like.

 

Or if your house is like mine (Ranch style with rooms spread out) you can pretty much count on clearing the house to get to your kid(s).

It's ultimately up to you. Get what YOU want. I'll be getting a bi-tone .45 XD 4" when i get back from the big sandbox.

I voted for the Bi-Tone. Although black is OK too.....XD's in any color is good. This is awesome......Tacoma's and XD's on one site.....I think I've gone to heaven.

 

I see you like XDs as much as I do. I had 4 but now I'm down to 2.

 

Black slides scratches easier than silver. FYI
