Nope. If the truck has a receiver, you will get the XM preview channel 189.
If you can't get 189, you don't have a receiver (connected and powered up).
You will need the serial number from the receiver to sign up.
The unit need to be on and tuned to 189 WHEN you call XM to send the activation signal.
