My point was I have ask nicely to not bother me. They won't comply. Time to figure out how to make their lives miserable.

I was a day late with a subscription payment and they were on me like it I was behind on my credit card payment.

It's a subscription service it's prepaid for the month.

I finally told the lady to make a note and not call me if I let my subscription lapse.

About the sound quality. I have noticed some radios are not as good as others. I know they are using stereo and it's digital. No doubt they are using compression to get more channels in the available bandwidth they have to transmit. I noticed that some channels are much lower quality than others. Talk, news and sports often sound like low bit rate under 128kbps and mono too

I never even signed up (or turned it on) for the free trial period on my 2019 and they send me junk mail at least once a month.

You are preaching to the choir my friend. Those assholes won’t leave me alone either. My trial literally just ended. Non-stop junk mail, calls, emails, etc. I barely even listen to the radio as it is. If I did, I’d opt to pay for a Spotify subscription. It’s cheaper and you can play whatever song you want.

Look up on their website that you want to cancel. It used to be you had to call and get arm twisted into staying. A few weeks ago I had it with them and so I look up the cancelation number. I was directed to a deal of $60 a year (plus the help the poor artist fees) and also got free streaming. Worth a try if you are sick of paying $240 a year for listening to music in a car the doesn’t get driven as much as it used to.

I'm about to get a really loud whistle and blow it the next time they call. I figure if they loose an eardrum or two the workman's comp costs might make them leave me alone.

The reason I have it is back in 2002 I bought the life time subscription for $180.00 so that’s only $10.00 a year and dropping and I do enjoy some of the rock and sports channels

Yes, I agree with everyone here.

The sound quality is mediocre at best. I enjoy the commercial free and the stations like Liquid Metal where there is nothing like it in my area on FM.

However, I absolutely HATE the friggin DJ's endless banter!!! Honestly, id pay for a subscription if I didn't have to listen to Keith Roth babble on and on and on about BS between every other song.

I am in the free trial right now but have no interest in keeping it once it expires.

I have had it in the past and canceling is a nightmare. Their customer service is awful. When I cancelled it years ago I was nice (at first) on the phone but it got to the point where I was seriously just repeating "I want to cancel my subscription" over and over and over and saying nothing but that. After about the 4th person, they canceled it.

    Yeah.
I get the draw for sports lovers, getting live game coverage that you might not get otherwise, but that's not really me. I don't know how much longer they are going to be around, honestly. If they just had a couple of packages and made things easy, they would probably have a much better chance and a lot more subscribers - $2.99/month regular, $4.99/month sports package. That's it. I'd be fine with the regular package, but that is all it is worth to me.

Now they get $0/month from me and their costs are basically the same.

I wish we knew how some of you are getting it for $60, or even $80 a year.

The offer we get is $5/mo, but when the fees (music royalties and such) are added in, it jumps to over $9.50/mo.

That's over $100 per year, which we will not accept.

I've had XM for 5 or 6 years, starting with a 2015 Subaru Outback (mistake), which came with a 6 month free introductory package. Same deal with my '17 Tacoma. Because of its auto-renew feature, I would not agree to giving XM a credit card number when renewal time rolled around, as I wanted to have a say in how much I paid. I negotiated a price, now about $75 / year, and insisted I be sent a paper invoice that reflected our agreement. Then I paid by personal check.

Now I am sent a paper invoice at renewal time, every 6 months, usually with the standard subscription price, which I won't pay. The product isn't worth that much to me and XM needs my subscription for advertising revenue more than I need XM. So every 6 months I have to call to renegotiate what I'm willing to spend. We've got the routine down now and always there's a special rate that they find for me after about a 5 minute discussion. Then a revised invoice with an agreed upon amount and "rinse and repeat" every 6 months.

XM is worthwhile to me on long road trips, esp. out in the middle of nowhere, e.g. central Montana, eastern Washington. I especially enjoy the news and commentary channels, as well as some of the special category music channels.

I have in addition to my 17 and the wife's 19 Highlander XM on my motorcycle which to me is more valuable than in my vehicles. Rolling through town with Ozzy's Boneyard blaring is fulfilling.

Gosh I should have done that back then too - not sure exactly when we stated XM - I know it was new - smart on your part! That's like a LOT of things I should have done over my lifetime - never sold many cars I had (best was a 63 vette), kept certain stocks longer, sold certain stocks sooner, kept all the real estate I sold over the years...I could continue on and on...all those mistakes make me missing out on that decision seem less stupid - LOL.

I spend most of my work day driving or working-out of a truck so I’ve had Sirius since at least ‘08 maybe longer. I love it and have two receivers, really makes long trips much more enjoyable and at work I have certain programs I listen to daily. I pay $15 a month for two subscriptions and on-line streaming.

As far as poor reception goes, that’s usually related to antennas. Not much choice in that on the Taco but I run an aftermarket antenna on my work truck and it rarely looses signal.

Wow - $60 year? Do you know what channels you were getting with that?

I think I am going to let expire and try the negotiation... I do feel like I am paying too much.

I kinda forgot i had it lol. Gor 6 months free...the normal 3, then paid $2 processing fee to get an extra 3 months..liked it at first but doesn't seem to be as good as I remembered like 6-7 years ago. Too many other options to ever justify paying for it, in my opinion.
