    @Gravex3400 and @TRDOBSESSED - It is not necessary to remove the cap, but totally up to you. You can see from @skang's picture below that the film is about 1/2" underneath the cap. You can just run the edge of the film up to the cap. I highly recommend that you have a extra set of hands to make the process go by quicker, but you can also do it yourself. Please make sure the surface is clean before application and keep it both the film and surface area wet until you are ready squeeze out the soapy solution. Keeping it moist will help with gliding the film in place. Once the film is where you want it, start squeezing/edging the water out. The install process for the tailgate is similar to the door cup guards.
