    Soooooo this just happened..

Brakes started grinding and I could feel resistance while driving my 3 mile commute home. I babied it using lower gears to slow my speed, got to the house, turned and had to use brakes to get into the driveway.. got really bad.. stuttering.. truck was trying to drive, but was stopping, like the brakes were seizing. As soon as I pull up into the driveway, when its at its worst, I hear the tire pouring out air. I stop the truck, park it, turn it off, jump out to see this.. pulled it apart and holy hell...

Caliper bolt fell out.. caliper was rubbing the wheel, enough to gouge it and break my wheel in 3-4 places. I am SO thankful and lucky this happened here, now, rather than 2 days ago when we drove 300+ miles, driving 80, wheeling, and when Lyd was in the truck.

Better to happen at home instead of at sedona I suppose, still crazy that it rubbed it enough to split the rim.

I just went to put my matching spare on... Well, what I thought was a matching spare.. And never noticed the offsets are different. by a good .25-.5".

spare is -12mm offset.. my others are -15mm.. per the stamping on the wheels. Mickey Thomspon doesnt even make a-15mm!! part #'s match, and they only make one wheel size for our trucks in 17x9.. 4.5BS and -12mm offset.

    wtf...

i put the spare on the rear passenger, and the rear on the front. all good for now, but gotta figure out the wheel situation. ideally, I'd like to see if I can get mine fixed. then just find a spare with the same matching specs.

I wouldn't worry about the 3mm difference too much, rolling diameter is what you have to watch out for in your tire size.

It's definitely more than 3mm though. You can visibly see it. Manufacturers must of changed or something.. It doesnt make sense.

It'll do for now, im just bummed about the wheel. I cannot find them anywhere. Love the Classic Locks. :been my favorite since as long as I remember. Always wanted colored rings for some reason. red rings with my first gen, blue with my 2nd gen.. Finally got em.. And now they're discontinued. Just a bummer.

Thanks, guess I need to do that as well.

Idk... Was just talkin to @The Fluffer about that. Not 100% sold.. But scs is really the only other wheel out there.. I will not run methods.

I just did my carrier bearing and 3 ujoints. Put the drive shaft back in and drove about 15 miles. Figured i'd check my hardware when I got bck to the house. Glad I did. One nut on the transfer case side was 3 threads from coming off. Took them all off and soaked the bolts in blue loctite. Then tightened them with a wrench as far as I could, stuck another wrench boxed end to open end and torqued that bastard down even farther. To my knowlege, none have come loose yet. Since then I have covered the truck in mud and snow so the likelyhood of me checking them again is slim.

It absolutely suck that you can't get these anymore, I could've sworn places like jegs or summit still had them.... but there are lighter, better made wheels out there ;)
