Absolutely, hopefully that is it though. As it's probably the cheapest and easiest option to check.

Of course my man, anytime!

My only other question, other than maybe by noise, how would i know when this ILEDS urethane supported bearing goes out?

My stock CB was howling and had a ridculous amount of lateral play. It even felt sloppy locking into drive/reverse.

This anchor solved that slop. But obviously isn't a quality part...

That, I do not know. Lol

Same here, my old one (any old rubber bushing) had that play when worn out as well as the slop switching gears. This new one solved my issues. I would say maybe they eventually break down, but just takes a lot longer since its poly. :notsure:

Exactly. And it won't be any worse than what you're dealing with now... Just a new CB.

A simple visual inspection will tell you if it has gone bad. The top will separate and the bottom portion of the Urethane will looked smashed. I happen to have a bad carrier bearing on my DD, here's what a bad one looks like.

    Okay, thank you.

My stock one failed, i bought the cheapo "Anchor" brand from AAP and its howling like a banshee not even 10 miles in. I've driven it for about 260 miles now and it has only become louder. Visial inspection checks out. Also just replaced the rear diff fluid last night and that made no change in the noise. Plan is to get the ILEDS and a new ujoint, then swap it out and hope the noise is gone

Did you take the driveshaft apart? The yokes etc? As in separate one end from the other? If you didn't matchmark them with a punch or paint pen you could of put the driveshaft together out of phase. An out of phase driveshaft will cause all sorts of weird howling that sounds very similar to a bad pinion bearing.

It was paint marked when it was taken apart. But i did not mark which way it was on the truck. But the rust marks showed how the holes lined up, so its either right or its 180 degrees out. So you're saying I should flip my driveshaft and check for noise change?

I always paint mark by a bolt hole and on the flange, only goes back one way to line up!

I would think it would cause vibrations if it wasn't lined up

The driveshaft is usually balanced off the vehicle, I don't think 180* of the complete driveshaft should matter, but I could be wrong
