    Yo @XPOTRPR , that belt is incorrect. You require a 7 rib and that Gates Racing belt one is a 6 rib belt. Additionally the length is too long also. You need to find one which has the effective length of 2120mm (or 83.46 inches) and that one is 2141 (or 84.3 inches). It's too long and it's not ribbed enough either.

    Summarized: Ordered belt. Had dealership install it. Went for test drive. 100% verified ~2 psi regained. Made it back to dealership. Found belt shredded due to improper installation. OEM belt installed. Back down ~2 psi.

    Interesting. Do you know what size pulley he is running? The blower tensioner is designed to add some extra pressure on the belt, but not designed to absorb extra slack as I found out when running the original OE size belt vs the inch shorter one. My boost was all over the place when running the 70.5" long belt, once I switched out to the 69.5" belt I found consistent boost every time.

    It appears he is running the 2.85 pulley. I looked at his original post, unless he swapped it out to the qwikchange design. ;)

    From what I am noticing, the moment you change out to anything smaller than a 3.0 pulley it would be a good house maintenance practice and rule to change out to an inch shorter length belt, the 69.5 length one.

    You bring up a good point, which I know but overlook so many times. Turbo life. ;)

    A smaller pulley should mean considering a smaller diameter. To maintain dynamic tension.

    Makes me wonder how many people don't get a smaller belt when changing pulley size?

    The answer to that is almost no one when changing to a 2.85 pulley (myself included at the time).

    One good way to know if you will have slippage occurring or not if you change to a qwikchange pulley on any supercharged system not just the TRD blower would be to tighten all the 5 Allen bolts when the belt is on. If you can tighten on them and the pulley spins while doing so, that will mean you do not have enough pulley to belt tension going on and there will be slippage at higher amounts of boost.

    Just got back from our trip up into Utah.. will get to that later..

    @12TRDTacoma @Torspd Right now.. I'm very curious about this belt length talk.. as I also did not even think about that, absolutely.. smaller pulley should need a smaller belt.. :facepalm: makes total sense. BUT.. then why did that gates belt show a consistent gain of ~2lbs for its short lifetime? (and yes I knew all those specs about the belt going into it). Just a newer belt with a better non stretch material? regardless, I am going to try that 69.5" one. also.. tell me more about this qwickchange pulley?

    on the trip, I only popped a code once, the usual p0120 codes or whatever... lean bank codes. We were in Kanab (5,000ft) starting the truck up after breakfast. scanned, cleared, and they didnt come back. Even when climbing elevation and starting up in high elevation. they are very sporadic. hoping to check those this weekend.

    I think you might be confusing the quick change belt, for the quick change pulley.

    I have been dwelling upon the belt difference as well. There would have to be a differential slip happening with the OEM serpentine belt, and the s/c belt. Only reasonable conclusion that I can think of.

    Regardless, a matched length s/c belt would be best.
