So in combination of the new belt slipping and loosing about 1/2 psi.....i think i discovered where the other 1/2-1psi went......

I just heard my exhaust today when driving in a partially enclosed area, and it aounds tinny. Like the loss of a catalytic converter tinny. And im quite sure i saw a big puff of white smoke come out of my exhaust a few weeks ago. I have only seen that 2 other times in the past. Both were a cat blowing out.

Im out of town for the next few weeks so i dont really have much chance to check this theory. If the cat is out im not replacing it again. Eff that. But lack of back pressure of one or both remainig rear cats would cause a psi drop.

Increase in efficiency, loss of restriction, can both cause realized drops in psi. Which would fit the bill for reduced exhaust restrictions. Were a cat blow out.

hmmm.. I'm curious about this as well now.. but am a little lost tbh. I have always wondered if my exhaust setup was a cause. may dive into that with you guys at a later time. I have had a cat blow out once already on my setup, one is about 5k miles old.. the other is like 20k+. in a high clearance y pipe that collects into 3" piping.

Big thanks to Evan @SeatSleeper for hooking me up with a smoke test at UTI. We found a leak at the air cooler cover. Added some rtv for a quick solution and to test if it is in fact the cause of low boost. I'll get a new gasket, just need to source one. Gained 1psi back.. showing 6lbs now. Gonna change the s/c belt today or tomorrow and see how that goes. Slowly eliminating possibilities.

No belt change this weekend. Screw up with AutoZone. Should hopefully have it mid week.

After driving a bit, the 6psi isn't very consistent.. but it's still better than nothing, and at least the leak is fixed. I'm putting my eggs in the belt slipping basket.

After the s/c belt swap.. I'll get numbers.. then try a new serp belt as well. Once that's taken care of, and i do my catch can, change the oil and run some sea foam through it.. I want to turn to the exhaust again. Open it up more.

6lbs is getting more consistent. I disconnected the battery before leaving UTI to let it learn again.

Truck goes in today around 4pm. They will have it for the next 2-3 days.

In the meantime I'm waiting for the Dayco belt to arrive. I'll do that, an oil change, sea foam, and my catch can Saturday.

I also need to find what's squealing under the hood still. Had an upper and lower idler pulley replaced with the belt.. but it didn't solve the problem. I'm guessing it's either the 1 pulley I didn't replace, or the ac clutch. Need to dive into that and see what's involved. Would love to get this all knocked out and done finally.

When does your squeak happen? With rpms? All the time? Are you sure it's coming from the engine bay?

I had a similar think and I'm pretty sure it ended up being my carrier bearing or something stupid.

I hate squeaks. Makes me feel so ghetto

Oh yeah it's definitely in my Engine bay. It's a pulley/bearing for sure. Most prominent when first starting up.. as it warms up it eventually goes away. Doesn't matter what rpm, ac on or not, it just squeals until warm.

Carrier bearing has been replaced with the IEDLS CB... Which is bomb AF and no issues or squeaks. So not worried there. It does make me feel ghetto. I hate hearing it at a light.. :pout: lol

I wonder if it has something to do with your water pump or fan clutch since it goes away when the truck warms up

I want to say it's the ac clutch... Just because I've been having ac issues on and off for months and months. Sometimes any setting but won't work, sometimes it's not very cold, etc.

I definitely want to get it diagnosed and figure out what exactly it is before I start pulling shit apart again. Do not want to go to the dealer. Lol

DONE! Nitro 4.56's installed. The guys at Az Differential Specialists did an amazing job and took the extra time and effort to make sure it was perfect 2 or 3 times over. They even saved me some more money where they could. Cheapest by far. Great, Honest and no BS shop. My kind of place, wish more were like this.

already, it feels so much more.. peppy. less throttle input needed to get it rollin and then when needing extra power/passing power on the highway, its already there. doesnt downshift as much and rides great! couldnt be happier. :goingcrazy: cant wait to break them in and see what they can really do :burnrubber: sand drags.. here I come.. @Milota95
