Can I get an updated review of the Wilwood brakes? I'm about ready to replace my rotors again. I have DBA slotted and I don't think they can be turned a third time. The pads dug in pretty deep this time and at $400+ for rotors alone, I'm entertaining the idea of Wilwoods.

Well, our trip up to the PNW was the first real test for them. Loaded down, driving winding mountain passes, etc. I could 100% feel the difference. I actually had a pretty hard stop at one point on our trip, and thought to myself afterwards.. "wow.. those grabbed quick, and hard.. glad I went with these".. lol. No fade whatsoever. Towards the end of the trip when we were hitting some 2 lane, twisty mountain roads where a sports car would have been ideal.. and being pressed by some locals behind us.. I was a little more spirited with my braking into cornering and accelerating out. They worked great, never felt any fade, no shutter, nothing. Just smooth, quiet braking throughout all conditions. I'm definitely satisfied with the purchase. I did score them on a deal and saved a considerable amount (I think 300+ bucks at least). They are top quality too.. which I appreciate, and will make for future maintenance easy. I did rub the ss braided line they provide a bit during those twisty and spirited mountain drives because I didnt give enough clearance for it and the tire during those hard tight turns at speed. The truck leaned enough for it to make contact.. but was minimal. I ziptied the Brake line up out of the way more and should be good to go now. Other than that.. no issues. Brakes feel firm, but I have had SS lines on the truck for a while now so I couldnt feel that change much.

@XPOTRPR what AWG wire you using with your fuse blocks? Stuff electrical is NOT my strong suit by any stretch. Hence is why I am a geologist; I can see rocks, sediment, and faults... electrical shit I can't.. TIA

Heard that. I make chips for a living. I picked the brain of @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT for a lot of the electrical stuff. He helped out a ton with his experiences and knowledge of 12v electrical.

If you're talking about the accessory wires FROM the Fuse Block.. I'll be running some nice 16g silicone wire in different colors to keep everything organized.

Thanks! I have everything wired with 14g to the fuse block in red n black; I labeled everything prior to running them thru the races. I just need to connect them to the fuse block, and then wire 8g from the fuse block to the battery with a breaker (probably go 60a) in between. But now wondering if this should be 6 or 4g. I really don't have a whole lot of draw, around 15a at most if everything is running all at once (3 iPhones, a mini pump, LED lights). The fridge is up front running off the Bluetti. Fun shit, not... LOL

Well, the battery wire I ordered is 4g if that means anything to you. That's per recommendation for my setup, but I think even yours would be better off with 4g.. in general. But.. like you.. I'm not good at this stuff. Lol.

Yeah, the 4g allows more current to pass through it that part I understand.

Here's a good chart for 12v wiring gauge.

Did you find them through a BF deal or just stumble upon a sale? If I too could save a bundle such as you, then it makes it even easier to justify.

It was a random sale.. let me do some digging and see if I can find it.

EDIT: I got them from THMotorsports.. and I cant remember what the list price was back then, but it shows $1518. I checked my statement from when I bought mine, and I paid 1500 flat, shipped.

Are you running 16 or 17” if 17” you could look at RR Racing 4Runner willwood kit. It’s just calipers and adapters but uses stock size 4Runner rotors which can be found at low cost from stoptech. I’ve been running them with stoptech slotted for some time. Trucks super heavy but they def help as another option.

you can also get stoptech kit for a tad under $2k with a discount (15% off)

BAMF bumper is done and shipping out! :goingcrazy: changed it to have it PC'd then shipped. Figured why not. I plan to pull the front Pelfrey bumper to have headlight hoops burned on and some holes cut into the wings for flush mounted s2's for ditch lights.. then probably going to have it PC'd too.

Also got in on the Red Bullet VVTi Solenoid GB! Barely snuck in. They will be a nice upgrade and hopefully see some increase in gas mileage and power. I just need to upgrade the coil packs, do the cam gears, and do some more tuning with the HP Tuner and I think I'll be good on the performance side of things. For a while anyways. All the stuff I wanted to do will be done at that point and I feel it will be a good stopping point on that front.

Need to order the OGE kit still once some side work is finished up and I can get some more Mod money! Hopefully within the next few weeks.

nice! looking forward to the Red Bullets. RIPP noted they will have the 2nd gen coil packs in a few months as well if you planning on getting in on that. Similar boat those 2 and finally update my fuel pump then I can finish a couple of mods (smaller pulley, fan) and should be pretty set.

I just ordered a new BAMF front bumper last month. How long did it take to get the rear bumper? 3 months?

Me too. Cant wait to see it. I am still sitting on the Coastal and havent gotten it welded up yet. But when we do I will be taking off the front and sending them to PC together. Then off to the valley to get the leafs re-arched for the new weight. Getting close to having to buy a new vehicle for trips when we dont need to take something so weighted down. (trips to the valley for the day etc)

Ahh man. You're still on the stock pump?? That's the first things I upgraded years ago luckily. I'll do those RIPP packs and cam gears and I'll be at the max for the most part. Running a 2.5 pulley now.

I ordered it back in July. But it's a rear dual with all the fixins.
