Your current setup will runs very nicely once you update the leaf pack. before the X1 I was running a shell but almost the same weight and no issues. Then as deals arise I started to upgrade. Only bad part was the leaf pack no longer could take it after the rear bumper was added.

It's not too bad The camper itself waits for a little under 400 and seems to be distributed well. If anything the rear bumper changes the dynamics more so than the camper.

I just worry being on softer leafs and no sway bar with any extra weight up top, it's why I've avoided roof racks. That and most of the wheeling I do is in the woods where branches would get snagged.

I haven't ran a sway bar in over 10 years.. lol. you get used to it just like anything else. I definitely feel the bumper.. but that's also because I was almost riding on my Superbumps. Should be better after and with the appropriate psi in the tires.

second that. haven't had sway in years and have been running super heavy. I did just ditch my busted Dakar leaf pack for a super heavy Deaver and its def stiffer but you can really feel the rear move more. It's def not soft but flexes nice. Def take more care than if you had nothing back there but they ride nice.

@XPOTRPR def takes some getting used to having the rear on more than anything. all that weight hanging off the back now. How heavy is the BAMF bumper sans tire? 250? Total my guess 400+ depending if you have water/gas on hand.

Exactly. About 260 minus tire and accessories. So yeah.. around 400lbs. I'm definitely glad I upgraded the brakes prior. Lol.

Truck's done. They added a leaf and re-arched them... netted me about 4" of lift in the rear.. so some slight rake I imagine. I will find out when I pick it up.. They did say my shock has only about an 1-1/2 of down travel and offered a solution of relocating the lower shock mount and extending it. I said no thanks.. as I dont recall that ever being an issue with the ET Kings. Picking it up today, so I'll poke around more.. and it should settle some with time and once I add some more weight/gear.

@snowsk8air2 you know more about this shit than I do.. what say you? I was just a little confused. It's been years since I've even thought about leafs and rear shocks, lengths, etc.

Odd I would think you would have less up travel rather than down travel with it being higher. 4” is pretty high. I think even with my super heavy pack I’m close to 3”.

I have about the same currently at about1-1/2" to 2" of down travel till I bottom out the shock about 1" till I hit bumpstop. So not to worried about it. But still with 200lbs of weight to add... I think its going to be cutting it close when you are on dirt weighted you may be close to riding your bumps and feeling everything rather than letting the suspension do its job. So if you do relocate the bottom hanger it wouldnt do much. If I am thinking of the problem correctly. Im confused and just rambling now.

same boat.. I was confused for sure. Once I get it and see it all and get the rest of the weight in there and it settles, I think it will be fine. Probably the same thing that yours is.. and what mine used to be before it started sagging with the weight. Its just been so long...

worst case.. I just pull the extra leaf they added.

It's actually probably completely fine. I prefer up travel anyways.. and that's how I have the front setup.. so they just matched it and saw that's it's all up travel and hardly any down. It's fine.. I'm sure they were just looking out.

Im really debating on ordering brakes or replacing what I have. Pads and rotors is $500. BBK is ~1300. I know its more expensive, DUH, but its larger and thicker rotors. Better braking and better life.

...more pistons, Plus 11lbs per corner up front in weight savings.

    DO IT.

I just pulled my pads, calipers and rotors to do an inspection and trip prep. Pads and rotors looks fantastic. Were easy to work on once I remembered the process from initial install. Definitely no regrets.

Looking back and having a few trips under the new hardware, would you install 4runner dust shields or trim them again?

Oh ok. I saw that the Wilwood kit has the factory units trimmed away for fitting purposes. That said, have you noticed any issues or causes for concern? You probably use your truck more than most people on this entire forum

Yeah I was glad I didn't have them when I saw that.. didn't feel like trimming shit. Lol

And I honestly haven't. The only thing I guess, is that it does make them more susceptible to the elements or sand, rock rash, etc BUT, so far they are holding up perfectly though. The powdercoat is very nice and thick. Time will tell I suppose.. but in general.. I've never had say a rock or anything else get in there or anything.

If you ever decide to it's pretty easy. Also, pick up T4R shields as they are the right size for 340/338mm. Just trim off a bit where the caliper is since it's too big. I kept them for my Wilwoods and already had 4runner from running the T4R setup

yesssssss.... not too bad at all! they had me all worried. It rides great, nice and balanced with no sway or anything. no jarring stiffness, etc. VSS once again does a solid job. I will always recommend them.

19" ground to frame up front and 19.5" in the rear. other measurements confirm its only about 1/2" of rake right now. Should settle, especially with the rest of our gear loaded up. Super happy with it. Hoping to finally finish cutting the rear flares and get those back on this weekend, as well as start messing with a self alignment.
