that is kinda in the middle. I was also just looking around the salt river canyon area...

 

I am down anywhere in the middle. I will be bringing the doggos so I prefer somewhere without cactus if at all possible. Whits out. She has to work saturday.

 

I was looking at google maps and looking around happy jack or even the roosevelt side of young road up. I didnt see anything to great tho in my searches.

 

you guys wanting to do a chill camp trip? or some adventuring?

just looking around on maps.. and for adventuring.. playing with ideas and potential loops or at least partials that work for both of us. meet at the salt canyon.. then work our way through and up towards Young. Tons of trails and options to either make our way west to Young and the 288, or north to the 260.. Then we can split off from there.

 

I like that idea. I have done that road once before but was just trying to get home so didnt get to explore the area. Looks like some cool stuff once you get to the higher area and back into the pines. I am down.

Whats your guys schedule look like friday?

EDIT: And some cool photo op places as you get higher and have Roosevelt lake in the background.

We've done Cherry Creek/Aztec and stuff to be able to see Roosevelt.. but this is deeper in.. i didnt think you'd be able to see from there. I'm curious whats all back there. I've been checking it out the last couple days. Looks like some awesome creeks and canyons we can find back in there.. and some caves as well!

I wouldnt be able to bail on Friday until like 3:30. IDK if Lyd is gonna come or not... if not.. I can get out there asap with Andrew after I'm off work.

 

Yeah I have taken the road from cherry creek up into young up to the 260. If its the same road I am thinking about. But i am leaving the office so I will text you.

 

Negative. Thats why I wanted to clarify. I have done that Cherry Creek route as well.. this isnt it and is further East towards Apache Reservation. Might not even be able to get back in there... IDK. I just see random campsites and trails. so maybe..
