Its honestly just the parking brake thing that makes me want to stay with drums. From what I've seen and heard others say that have them, the parking brake setup on the disc kits is kinda meh and small, etc etc.. like you might as well just not even run it to save on costs. I do like have the parking brake for holding this heavy fucker on inclines. Plus, yeah drums are kinda dumb.. but they just work and last a long ass time. I could even put mine back in right now. I'm already re-using my drums but have brand new shoes to put in since I had to take them apart anyways to pull the shafts. I wont lie tho.. it is tempting.. some matching wilwoods would be dope.. maybe if I have to go D60 down the road I'll that then too. lol

    but yours... yes. :spy:

I'd like to think so! lol I think with this new rear end + making some changes to my rear bumper and where I carry all the weight + save the hard wheeling for the 4Runner.. I wont have any issues.

same man! I've been going down rabbit holes like crazy too..

I've been trying to determine what 4runner rear axle he used for the rear swap.. so I can figure out front and rear axle widths and get them to match. I think the rear is 3rd gen.. which would be 60.75" Wheel Mount Surface to WMS. OR.. its a pre 96 4runner 58.5" axle. The first gen front axle is definitely 55". So I would do the front IFS hub conversion to gain 3" overall up front and would be solid if the rear is the 58.5" axle. If its the 3rd gen 60.75" axle, I would have to do the front IFS hub conversion + 1.5" wheel spacers.. which seems to be pretty common on these things to get all the axle widths to match. There are a few combos for sure..

I'm also going to test fit my uncles other set of wheels/tires, skinny 35's.. when we're out there. I know I can easily fit 33's on it now.. I may be able to fit 35s in there too.. and in that case.. I'd throw the ones on the Taco on the 4runner, and do new wheels and tires on the Taco. Which, I already have another set of wheels I can use.

Oh the axles arent the same width? Figured he would of already gone down that hole when he did the swap. OG your wheels and tires would look so good! Going to be allot of rubber for that 22re motor to move. Even with the turbo. But it aint built for speed.

He put in a lot of work on it.. but with the smog BS he didnt finish some things. The IFS hub conversion up front is pretty cheap and easy for DIY guys like ourselves. It uses all toyota parts sourced from other models/years and a little bit of fab/machining and I can net 3" total + gain the ability to easily pull the hub as a unit if a axle breaks. I would still need to add like 1 to 1.5 spacers to match the rear. The rear axle swap gained a factory e locker, disc brakes, but its wide and kind of the odd man out as far as widths go. So far, this is the only issue I'm finding with the setup he did.

That makes more sense for the conversion for the ease then and get it all matchy matchy as far as widths.

I would still need to run wheel spacers even with the hub conversion.. thats my only concern. OR.. I find a 58" front axle to swap in and do the hub conversion on that.. then no wheel spacers needed.

Run wheel spacers or its going to get me home measuring my axle and start down the swap myself. Do it for me bro and just run spacers.

Could be. But on some of these its all gov funding. Got to use it or lose it then this project comes out of your funds next year. They have a new chief who is a younger guy. He has been holding up projects all year by not signing contracts.

Edit: So are you guys just showing up to get hours and just taking it easy?
