Question on your stereo, I'm pretty sure from the looks of it you left the plastics on the back of your rear seats with that sub, is that correct?

I've been racking my brain since I got the truck on what sub I want to run. I really want to keep the plastic's on for when I lug my dogs around. Wanted the Taco Tunes setup they have but the seats don't fold down. And I'm a bass head (used to have 2 Orion HCCA 15's in my CRX) so trying to squeeze decent bass and not modify the seats is turning out to be a challenge.

Yeah, the back plastics are still on. It's just a normal truck box, with a p1 (soon to be a p2) hits pretty good. I listen to mostly metal and ska/punk. So Its more punchy sound.. enough for me. It rattles a bit, but that's a given since its a taco. The seats still fold down, the sub doesnt hit the back either. if your a serious audiophile, a custom box might be better. My buddy has two 10's behind his rear seats (05 Taco double cab) and hits crazy hard. Cool, but too much money. Your more than welcome to check It out sometime to see if you want to use this method.

Do you know what subs he is running by chance? I've seen boxes on ebay that fit behind with 2 10's and you can keep the plastic's on, depending on the 10's you choose.

I listen to mostly Rap and Dubstep, so lots of bass :) And price isn't any concern to me.

And yeah I'd love to check out your setup some time.. You going to chris 4x4's this weekend?

Thanks man. Was gonna text you like usual, but this time It was a little longer. lol think I should stick to this plan?

I'll find out. I THINK he has the back plastics removed, but not sure.

I listen to some dubstep, and this one 10 does pretty Damn good actually lol I'm only running a 400w amp too. So im thinking with a p2 which is rated at what... 300 compared to the p1 at 150w.. it should sound a lot better. Stuff rattles before the sub clips.. so hats why I turn it down. I'm hoping that this sound deadening will help and ill be able to bump it even more. Lol

Ummm, actually I wont. I'll be up in Prescott, and then MAYBE come down for the sycamore run Sunday.

Cool thanks man! Yeah if I take the plastics off I can get the sound I'm looking for.. I already installed what I like into another DC Taco, but I REALLY want to keep the plastics. I also want to carpet those plastics so that limits me even more.

I was thinking of doing that too. Maybe In the future. Patrick (Nofords) has a similar set up, and he tried it with and without the back plastic and said he couldn't tell a difference. so I'm gonna leave mine in, and maybe try to carpet them or something. we will see after tomorrow when I sound deaden the back wall.

Finally finished my interior painting and sound deadening. I tore out the back wall plastic and my sub/amp and laid down some Fat Mat Rattle Trap.

    of course refreshments...

I removed the chrome piece on the shifter by just popping it off as if you weer to break it in half. lol, sanded, primed, and then painted in krylon fusion white.

Then removed the door panels, and the gauge cluster
    [IMG]

removed the gauge rings by the small clips behind the cluster
    [IMG]

all pieces painted in Krylon fusion.. waiting to dry..

    next step... watch paint dry..

then reinstalled all the pieces. I used two part epoxyto attach the bezel on the shifter, and the emblem on the steering wheel.

    all finished, cleaned, and detailed..
