well the 5-1/4 components have crossovers. I guess I could do that.. or I was thinking of just reversing the leads.. making the rear components my "fronts".. and just the 4" as rears to fill. I'll just play with it. just need to call Crutchfield and return/exchange the 6x9's for the components.

It would be simple to add the tweeter to the 4" speakers. I'd do that if possible.

and that wont mess with anything?

So 4" up front.. steal the crossovers from the components and run those with the tweeters and 4".. then run the 5-1/4's solo in the rear pillar. leaving them as is.. rear = rear, front = front..

    right?

I have one in my 4runner it’s definitely not blur the mirrors bass but it does add the lows that you were missing if you didn’t have any kind of sub. If your expecting the bass of a 10” sub in a normal box this isn’t it. I bought one because it fit under the seat and out of the way.

Yes. It will be correct for sound staging. Use the fronts for all the vocals. Use the 5 1/4 in the rear for fill and we can see if we can cross those over to help with the bass/sub a bit.

good to know. I'm sure it will be sufficient enough, especially in a little sing cab behind my seat.

right on! so when you say crossover the 5-1/4's.. you mean just adjust and fine tune via the headunit at that point?

HU or the Amp depending on how you set everything up. I still have a few 4 and 5 ch amps you can look at, see if you want one.

    Thanks man! I appreciate that.

I wont have room. I'm leaving the passenger side behind the seat empty for misc storage. I was just going to run the speakers through the HU. I do need to pick up a set of RCA's and some power wire for the powered sub though.

A friend of mine had one of these in the late 90's / early 2000's. Stock w/ a cherry bomb muffler and couldn't kill it. I laugh whenever I see these because he spray painted "not done yet" on the tailgate and one of our crew changed that to "hot boner"

    none yet
i had 2 6x9's in the doors and 2 fosgate 8's behind my bucket seats and small 400 watt amp in my '88 in high school and you couldn't see out of any mirror and didn't sound like a coke can falling apart either...you shouldn't have a problem with sound when you get it all squared away.. couldn't see the last 3 pics you posted on here but its probably just my computer being lame..also for note i'm 5'11 and was about 170 lbs back then.. good luck man

    Sure.

Also do you know anyone who fixes amps? I have a Kicker ZR-1000 that needs repair. It's beyond my skill set to fix.

 thats awesome! makes me feel good about mine then. 194k miles young. lol

    negative. custom seats.

nice! unfortunately I dont have door options.. just front under the dash and these rear pillars. I'll get it all done up! I'm pretty similar. 5'11" and about 160. I fit in these captain seats perfectly. taller people definitely have more trouble.. but they would regardless with this tiny thing. lol the seats are nice, but do limit height and adjust-ability..

Those little ‘Bazooka tube’ type subs have come a long way. Worth looking into for sure. Ditching your bench seat opens up some options, as well. I’ve seen subs fitted into the bottom of a center console that sounded good.

Didn’t that year Yoder have a speaker in the top center of the dash?

No bench seat for me, custom seats (well... Leather captains from the rear of a 2018 chrysler town & country) and no center speaker.

Two 4" under the dash like a Jeep Wrangler.. then two 5-1/4" in the B pillars/rear pillar.
