and I LOVE the exhaust!! :goingcrazy:

Cat Delete w/ 2.25" piping. 18" Magnaflow, and center dump. Sounds so smooth and deep. I'm REALLY surprised and pleased with how it sounds. doesnt even sound like a 32 year old 4 cylinder toyota pickup. lol

Loving the exit and dump too. they did it exactly how I imagined with hardly any input. Always great results from Mesa Muffler.

Its not too bad! rear diff has a small, slow leak. one clamp on the driver side leaf pack is half broken.. misc mounts and bushings are starting to ear and break down. but overall.. pretty decent.

and thanks man! I'm definitely liking how it came out .

Quick vid for now. Need to get some better ones.

    https://youtu.be/P7EED0tLxnA

Also need to tune the carb and or find and fix (or ditch) some vacuum/emissions issues. Not backfiring from the carb.. but from the exhaust on deceleration. Been reading around on it.

I've done a mod or two
Be advised that the stock Aisin carb is a baby back bitch and starts to act a little weird when it isn't pulling vacuum from some of the emissions shit. I'm pretty sure if you leave the charcoal can in it acts okay then. But it's a carb which means it knows nothing about its own mixture so if it expects airflow and receives none sometimes you can dive rich other times if it isn't in a venturi chamber you can dive lean. From what I remember you can tune the Aisin carb after you modify the vacuum lines and cap off unused ones but just like tuning anything else you either have to guess by smell and sparkplug coloration or put a wideband on and dial it in like a pro

You're pretty much safe to remove any vacuum line below the carb on the intake mani though, and I don't remember where the vacuum advances sources from but you need that for sure

my dude  pretty much what I found/saw when reading up on it.

which is why people go to the Weber.. but.. I think I might leave it all alone. idk. Recently I've been more and more enticed by the idea of leaving everything factory under the hood. especially after everything I've learned and done to the Taco.. lol

Might just get the carb rebuilt and tuned, then track down that cold air hose for the factory air cleaner, and call it a day.

The Weber is a good little carb, you could do the four individual Mikuni side draft carbs for real street cred (now that would be unique with some long tube headers).

I would see if you can find someone with history rebuilding and adjusting the stock carb and have them tune it so you can safely remove the EGR. Really that's the only emissions on that truck that is a PITA, the rest is harmless and you can leave alone cause it only helps you (like the charcoal can stopping the raw fuel smell)

THAT would be dope.. but would also require going full retard I think. At least... I know I would want to. Lol

I did find a shop.. been talking to him about it all and he was one of the guys who suggested to not do the Weber. Hoping to have him do exactly what you said.. rebuild and tune it.

I'd explain the truck to him, my guess is after opening your exhaust up it is running a touch lean now, which would explain some of the popping. Also popping on decel is normal with a manual anyway, but usually not just when revving.

True.. and its not too bad. I just know the carb needs some attention, and figured it would probably affect the exhaust situation by default anyways.
