Do you have any info on what Justin did tuning-wise for the water methanol you're spraying on the top end? I had him tune my truck as well and i let him know im running water/meth but wasn't sure if that was something that get's taken into account or if it's just a little something extra for safety.

Justin tunes so the engine is running well with no meth. Meth has a different afr from gasoline so the afr number goes loopy and for most of us our afr goes below 9 or 10 (or out of range) on the gauges. More power is still being made with the added meth.

Alternative is tuning on a dyno for max power which can take meth into account but failsafes should be used in case meth stops spraying so you don't grenade your engine.

Do you use any fuel treatment or just fill up with ethanol free before storing it? Mine sits around a lot and I’m wondering if I need to be doing something..

    I don’t do shit lol. It’s got
93 in it and never had a problem. I will run a tank through it and then put a new fuel filter in and and hammer. Do the same with everything. Never had a problem with lawn mowers or anything running 93.

That’s kind of what I figured, and yeah that makes sense to have a fail safe in place so things don’t go south bc of a minor problem.

I could definitely feel the bump in the butt dyno after adding water meth to my 4 banger this past weekend. It really wants to go now even at just part-throttle

Sounds like it would be cool to have a couple different tunes depending on what you’re using it for. Maybe a safer one for the daily drive and then one tuned just for water meth for the track. I did like the guardian on the UCon for this reason. Do you know of any built in fail safes within HPtuners that could help in a situation like this?

Well that makes me feel a little better lol. We have pretty good 93 gas in TX but it is 10% ethanol so
I’ve always worried that would gum things up. How long does yours typically sit in storage?

That’s a good idea, couldn’t hurt to start it up every once in a while to keep things lubricated. I’m sure the battery appreciates that too

What was that. Fifth or sixth gear pull? Runs well.

that is tempting, but that’s a project I’m way under qualified to take on! Plus, my taco has 215 k miles that engine should go in something newer
