Correct me if I am wrong, but the build site for Ford Ranger does not contain any option for "extra cab" (or whatever they call it) in the 2024 models. That leaves Nissan as the sole remaining midsize truck manufacturer to still provide that configuration in a 4x4 with actual side doors.

Unless Dodge wants to actually engineer a midsize truck (Gladi doesn’t count) and bring it to market then yes. The Dad truck now dominates with Nissan being the only hold out.

    LOL! That is awesome!

There are a surprising amount of ACs here running around, mostly driven by grumpy looking middle aged men like myself. :D

This was in ‘21 when I bought mine, so the Ranger SC was still available. The ‘24 Ranger has been scratched off my list too.

The Frontiers weren’t out yet at that time, have looked at them and liked them, but was warned by senior tech buddy that Nissans start nickel and diming you around 100K miles.

If I ever replace my truck, it will be another Tacoma: Access cab, with the long bed. Obviously it won't be new or a 4th gen.

I have had my DC truck for about 30 months now and have only had people in the back about 3 times. My son's Lab has been back there more times than that and he loves it: fold seats: slide in his big dog bed: he jumps in: goes to sleep for the whole ride home. Dogs Love Trucks.

I test drove the 4th gen and liked it, I really did, but I did not care for the four door version. Plus, the 4th release appears to be a total mess. I don't need the 4-door seating, I just need a little storage space and the 4-door has space, but its a hassle if you use it every time you drive the truck (which I do). After weeks of soul searching (lol), I have decided to look for a low mileage, long-bed, non-white, 2023 AC. I just don't see the space behind the seats being useful if you have to lift the front seat to access it (xtra cab). 3rd gen here I come...

Anybody ACTUALLY considering owning any of these latest, turbocharged, internet connected vehicles past warranty better reconsider. And that goes for Toyota too...

Toyota's reputation was built on bog simple trucks and unkillable Camrys and Corollas.
The Corolla went for decades with a 1.8 4 cylinder, 4 speed auto and plastic hubcaps.
My wife's fancy 2020 Corolla HB left her stranded when the electric water pump threw a code that set limp mode.

Regarding Camry. Not every Toyota power plant choice was problem free.
As I recall, late 90s into the 2000's
    2009-2011.
And here is the 2.4L 2Az-FE 4 cylinder tear down with some commentary about problem points (2007).
@speedkar99 tears down all sorts of engines! It is highly entertaining, if you are entertained by such things!

I had a V6 Solara 6MT that had a class action lawsuit against the V6 for sludging.

    Mine never developed sludge.
