Well I got mine today and installed them with ease thanks to the video. Great product, everything fits, and the windows are securely latched.

I received mine on Saturday and installed last night. Window seals tight, tested for leaks using the hose. Great replacement, I'm happy to have usability of the window back.

By the way, the video was great, really sold me on the purchase.

the ebay listing says 1 latch for $9.99. Thought it was $10 a pair. My bad if I missed a post where you said otherwise. Just going off of what you said in your original post.

I had the same question. He offered them at the lower price for just one week. Now it is 9.99 each ($20/pair).

It wasn't posted here but, IIRC, his initial eBay listing had a statement about introductory pricing after which they'd be more expensive. (Not a fan of that business model, BTW.)

Supply and demand. Willingness to pay. When you are trying to see if something will fly and if you can make it profitable, you need to test the waters.

The intent was to have an introductory sale price for the first week. Sorry if I didn't make that clear in my original post.

    My bad :(

Tell you guys what. Anybody that has already posted in this thread, send me a PM. I can get you a pair for the original price.

I should probably rephrase. I was disappointed to find that info only in the eBay listing, though it did prompt me to order mine more quickly.
Thank you! That's the kind of service that will win you loyal customers.

Got mine at the original price on eBay and not installed them yet, but don't blame the OP for bringing the price up. Probably should have been $9.99 each to begin with if eBay purchase was on the cards. eBay/PayPal take a load in fees right off the top AND get a double wack now off shipping as well as both take fee percent off on the shipping charged too.

Hard for a seller to raise prices as needed when posting on a board like this, but props for taking care of people here at the old price. Old time customer service there.

Honestly, economics of it, a post explaining that just not economically viable to sell them at a fiver each I think most would understand as well. Sure I like to get things cheaper and save money, but can see it from the other side too.

Props to the OP/seller for selling them individually as well. If you just have one broken you can just get one if you like. Even at $22 (pair with ship at new price) that is still only around the price of one factory replacement breakable latch from what I remember.

Honestly, unless the place that made them for him just gave them to him I don't see where he is making much money on them at all to make it worth the effort. Reality is, if they fit, work and have longevity then probably worth the $9.99 each maybe a bit more. As I said, not fitted mine or used them yet, but already seeing good posts on them. Just my opinion, but there you go. No flame or jab directed or meant towards anyone.

Way I figure it at the $5 each and 1.95 ship selling on eBay and taking PayPal for payment it works out to:

    Total w/ship $11.95
eBay fees (looks like he is using the bulk BIN type listing so paying a listing fee from what I can see so) $1.93
    PayPal fees on payment $0.77
Envelope, ship label, print ink $0.60
Actual ship $1.95 (which is what the seller is charging by the way so actually loosing money on shipping with every one sold.)

So comes down to $6.70 total left which comes out to $3.45 each left. Out of that the seller has to cover what it cost him to have the things made. If we guess that cost each was half of the selling price then $3.45 - $1.73 = 1.72 each profit!

As I said, does not seem worth it for the effort unless you do put the price up on them. Guess easy for me to say as I got them at the lower price to begin with, but just post in support of what looks like a good service seller. Who knows, maybe the math might shock him :)
I'll go back to sleep now.......

That's nicely put. I wasn't aware of all the fees involved in eBay and paypal. I don't have either. It would be nice if we (TW folks) sent him the money directly. It sounds like it would benefit him by not being hit with the fees. Just wrap $10 cash in some paper and mail it. What do you think?

Installed mine, too. Look great, work great. I painted mine black. Hint: put a shop towel on top of the vise/bench/whatever when driving out the pin so you don't mar the latch handle.

I think I figured out why they fail: there was a huge air bubble in the plastic molding right in the middle of the failure point. There is only half as much plastic there as it looks form the outside! I got pics, and I'll post them when I have time.

    Installed.

OEM plastic, only one was broken...so far.

And looky here: air bubble in the molding at the main failure point. Maybe this is why they all fail. Manufacturing defect.
