How do I get my taco to recognize these new sensors. Purchased the XD rims, new tires and had them add the TPMS sensors so when I got them couple weeks ago all I had to do was install them on my truck. The sensors did not work for couple of days but no light was on the dash. After reading how to update them found out about the reset switch and followed that procedure. They started working within mins and displayed the pressure as expected but it only lasted for half a day. After that the light came on and the pressure was replaced with --- showing on the dash. Tried resetting it again and nothing, took to the dealer yesterday who said they could do it but then came back and said they do not set after market sensors and could replace them with factory ones for $700 which was a joke. Then said Firestone could do it over, after trying to scan them they said the software on their computer would only recognize main brand names of after market sensors, never heard of Xtra Seal sensors. Left and called Discount Tire who said they could do it. After getting there took all of 3 mins and said it was done, free of charge. The dash light was off and got almost home and forgot to make sure the pressure was showing and still have --- instead but no light. Frustrating and sent an email to RealTruck.com which is where I purchased these from. Is there anything someone might know of I can do to get this resolved ? This is not rocket science but for what I paid i should not be having these type issues....

    Thanks

Those sensors require to be programmed with the "Extra Seal' tool.

Do you realize that the sensors do not get the tire info for 20 miles of driving..?? When I change into my summers in the spring, I do not see the pressures for about a month, because the truck has to be constantly driven 20 miles for them to "sinc" and transmit data...

My trip to town and back is just under 20 miles. Does not sinc if shut off ay 19 miles....:notsure:
