A pet peeve I have is when you walk into a business and tell the sales person what you are looking for and they respond with "why do you want that?" or "you don't want that, you want this" ....... I fuckin turn around and walk without saying a word.

I'd make them go get one for a demo and move it to the front door for a test drive. Then as I approached the vehicle with him standing there I'd say "What is this? I don't want a 4 door with a 5' bed" "Did you not listen to me or what the F..?" Then I'd just walk away laughing.

That one is 2wd and it's in Puerto Rico. I did see an allocation listed for another red SR in PA, can't recall which dealer. I see some SR5 4x4s and a couple Prerunner also in red.

I wasn't sure if red was going to make its way to the SR XC being an extra cost option. I know previously in the 3G SR & SR utility pkg white, black, silver, gray, and red was offered. Those colors have been around since 2013 when Toyota cut the other colors from the RC.

I want to see a SR SX. It would have to start with the SR5 to get the 278 hp engine. Add 4wd, fog lights, black OR overfenders and keep everthing else the same spec as the current SR, steel wheels and the same interior as the SR. Toyota could upgrade the interior fabric to all black and throw in the black headliner from the Prerunner or TRD trims. The rear locker would be nice to, but I could live with out it

Xtracab is the way to go. Looks better, long bed is way more useful than the short bed and the storage behind the seats is great. You’d be amazed how much gear you can get back there. Probably has some extra pop on the gas too with the lower weight.

How do I see what vehicles are allocated where? I'm looking for a XC SR5 4x4 and searching every dealerships website with no luck. One dealer wants $1k to "be on a list" to wait to see what they are allocated. Is that a common practice these day? If anyone has any suggestions for me that could help my search it would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly, I heard so many times while I was shopping for my 4 x 4 access cab in Southern California that, I would be the odd man out with a access cab, and I would be weird, why do I need a 4 x 4 in Southern California, no one uses them, am I another Overlander, bro? And I did have a few ask if I was married, and if my wife would be OK with it… hahaha

I spent six months looking for my truck, and I would say a lot of dealers don’t understand how to treat the customer with respect and sell them the product that they were looking for. Asking questions for clarification is great, telling me what I should buy, and why means you’re not listening to me and you’re only concerned with quotas and not customer service.

In the end, I was a disrespectful asshole, cause you know, you give back what you get.

    BTW, it’s an AC, Off-road, 4x4

The only thing I can look at is Cars.com Auto Trader and CarGurus. I don't have access to anything from Toyota, there are some sites listed here on TW that have better info I can't recall any of them other than kiss my grits, I don't think I ever checked it out. When I say allocation it's trucks that show on inventory but don't have any real pictures, and have not been at the dealer long, presumably those are in transit.

Thank you. That's about what I'm doing and going to every dealerships website and emailing them also. I appreciate you responding. Might have to settle for 2wd ;(

    Agree 100%---- love the xtracab:thumbsup:

I had good luck w/ the CarEdge site----allows you to define the parameters you're looking for and then shows what's out there that falls into the categories specified. When I say good luck, however, it didn't result in my finding my truck, but did show what was out there, what the build was, and which dealership got the allocation---- great info for someone (me) that was new to the Toyota process and didn't yet know what I didn't know. It's unfortunate that not too many people want the xtracab---- I absolutely love mine and it sounds like you would/will be in the exact same boat. Good luck w/ what can be a frustrating process.

Also, hope everyone has a safe and happy new year

Strongly leaning toward a Prerunner since the SR5 4x4 w/upgrades is so far nowhere to be found. My deal breaker is the absence of sonar parking detection front and back. I'm getting older and they will really come in handy. Thank you and Happy New Year to all!!

Toyota should have made the Prerunner available in Bronze, that would probably be hard to find if they did. I wouldn't mind a 2wd less stuff to break, I barley use 4x4 other than when the roads get slick which has been almost nonexistent since 2023, but that won't last for ever. I'm the northeast so I'm already going to take a hit on depreciation with a 2wd. I think the 2wds will sell here, but I'm waiting to see if they drop below 30k with a discount.

Is the extra cab all that much smaller than a double cab?

Wheel base and overall body length the same. They just kind of take a foot away from the cab and add it to the bed length.
