Y’know 265/75/17, were it a thing, would be the unicorn size

I lament that there is no 265/75/17 tires in production. This would be an amazing size for the Tacoma

- would fit 7” Toyota OEM rims

- not a 255 pizza cutter

- slightly larger in diameter (more sidewall) than a 275/70/17 while being narrower, so likely would not need cutting (same as 275/70/17s don’t need cutting)

-less rolling resistance than a 285/70/17 and no chop

Anyways. Im just musing. Seems the missing size in anyones offering. I think don’t was offered it would be a runaway success. I don’t see any technical reason it could not be made, other than the fact it is not spec’d on any factory pickup. Then again, I don’t think 285/75/17 comes on any truck from the factory either and that is offered.

 

That's like me wishing there was a 265/85/16. A bit taller and wider than a pizza cutter but would fit a tacoma well. Only some fender liner re molding would be needed I imagine. I currently have 255/85/16 toyo MTs that measure in at 33.5x10.2. Maybe my dream size is just too similiar to pizza cutters.

 

Yeah. That would be also be a cool size. I guess we can all dream.
