Perhaps I'm overthinking this... Anyone have any experience or any issues having installed a YAKIMA slim shady awning on their OEM Toyota Roof rack? I've seen where people have had some issues with different clamp styles, however this awning comes with a fairly universal mounting clamp. Photos attached for reference, I'm thinking this thing should clamp right on. Only issues I can surmise would be being tall enough to clear side of the roof rack, or if the cross bars are not level enough between each other.

Thank you for any insight, I may have to flag down a local with the rack and see if they'd let me mock it up.

It works, I ran this for a couple years. I think you want to put the brackets on the awning first, but keep the bolts loose. Then attach to the OEM roof rack. I think it was a little tricky setting it up since the roof racks have a slight angle, but once on it was solid.

Good call, should have the rack installed in the next week or so (as soon as it ships to me) and will give that a go, thanks for the tip
