I got some rims off of a xsp-x with like 400 miles that satisfied the need for new rims, and I'm trying to make the tires last until I can lift it lol

Have you tried to maybe get your dealership to install the RCD lift? if they do it shouldn't hopefully void the warranty

I promised my wife I wouldn't go crazy with mods after buying my DCSB in April, but I wanted different wheels.

Found a set of used wheels off a Trail edition 4runner and sold my stock Sport rims. Had the stock tires remounted on the new rims and called it done. Not nearly as sexy as new tires/rims but a good cost-effective compromise.

I had a similar conversation with my wife before buying my 15 in October. I'm at $2,100 in upgrades

I'm not saying I haven't done any mods, but I'm selecting less obvious mods than new bling on the tires and wheels.

Haha, I challenge anyone to frequent TW and leave their truck 100% stock. I'm not sure it's possible

True for my 08 and 11, so far ive made it 6 months without touching my 15 (besides window tint and interior leds, which I dont consider real mods), the struggle is real.

Don't kid yourself. Those are mods ;) I included my tint and interior LEDs in my dollar figure

Same. Told my wife the day I bought the Tacoma that I would leave it 100% stock and spend $0 on it. 3 months later I added Weather techs, Ultra Gauge, Tints, NFab steps, Level 8 wheels, 265/70/17 Cooper tires, LED interior lights, bunch of odds and ins and more to come. The great thing about my wife is she never complains about it. She actually loves my truck more now than the day I bought it.

I'd just put on a more aggressive 265/70/17 tire on the factory wheels. What you didn't figure in your original wheel and tire price is also the need to swap the TPMS out of your current wheels into the new ones. As said before those wheels really don't look all that great till you go 20" or bigger. But that's just my opinion.

I factored it in, I dont need tpms to tell me if my tires are low, when I lifted my 11 and went to 285's I just left them out and sold em. Im gonna resist the urge and stay stock for now. I have no issues with the tires on there too, the bridgestones arent bad, handled fine this winter, the dunlops on the other hand, those are some shitty tires, feel bad for the sport owners that end up with those. And I agree, 20 is a bit big, maybe 18's. I'll just hold off till I lift.
