This is where the spring center bolt was. It’s now gone. There is no “pin” that’s part of the housing. The spring perch on the housing has a hole in it. From the factory, the spring center bolt has a round head that goes in the hole in the spring perch to locate the housing. In your case, you have a block with a hole in top and a pin on the bottom side that goes into the spring perch.

I hope your body shop is smart enough to know the old school way of checking toe in on the rear axle. All it takes is a ball point pen, a tape measure, and 5 minutes time.

I’ll be visiting them when they open.
Beside the owner living across the road from his shop they don’t know it’s there.

As of now they are gonna fix it.
The collision/body shop is gonna put her on the frame table tomorrow.
If either the frame or diff housing are bent it’s gonna be considered totaled.
    I appreciate your help!!
    Thank you
    Jeff

    So she’s done.
Frame is a diamond shape passenger side pushed about 1/2 a inch to the rear.
Leaf springs mounts also twisted not sure if the diff housing is ok body shop didn’t need to get that far to call it done.
Ins gave me 12k just bought this for 18k. 203E2027-46A3-4F4B-9B6B-C19772529D62.jpg
They wanted 21k it’s had a crap load of work done including the secondary air pump.
I’m gonna mis mine but I believe this will help get over it.
Looks like I’m gonna have some 05-11 parts for sale.

With the current market, I’d say you did pretty good on both sides of that deal. Ended up with the best of the 2nd gen trucks, so not a bad deal.

    Thanks brother.
I was attached to my truck but I’m getting over it. Spent yesterday afternoon pulling add ons off it.
Not sure I’m a big fan of the exhaust noise mine was quite as a mouse.

Does that have the TRD exhaust on it? The best description of the 4.0 exhaust note I’ve ever heard was “over worked hair dryer”. I’ve never had the desire to amplify that:rofl:

The TRD exhaust has a nice drone, I guess an overworked hair dryer when its balls have dropped. And he’s got a TX Pro as stated on the bedside decals, precedent to the Baja and TRD Pro

Gotta say the front bucket seats are way better in this than what my base had.

So it may be missing shocks but I gotta say it is a first gen pro.
Seems it’s fairly rare actually and it has not been modded other than the aluminum skid having been painted black. I did a remote start installed by me and I’ll be swapping out my chrome grille this weekend.
Not sure if I’d been in my base 4cyl manual so long I just don’t get it but!
The locker and lsd with the v6 4.0 is a huge difference.
Just put my summer wheels on must be the or had more lift because I’d rub the flaps without melting them without lif F7D0AA6B-189A-40CF-89AC-35A0A57A3AF0.jpg
I wasn’t gonna put a lot into it,
My last truck was a prom queen!
Still have the wheels 1st Tacoma purchase 2012!

Didn’t really care for the DCSB or face lift but really enjoy the cab power windows etc.
Either way I like it and the Dog is a happy camper also!

Finally got around to some needed maintenance.
    Truck has 143k now.
Changed diff fluids drained auto trans pan and refilled twice so far, also ps twice.
Swapped out out the chrome grille for black. The 12 volt solutions remote works awesome.
Did transfer case and greased shafts and plugs the other day.
It had ngk on drivers side and denso passenger side.
Both sets had a .07 gap but the denso plugs were in a lot better shape.
Getting new rear leaf packs built and installed by a local spring shop this week.
I broke the drivers side hauling top soil for the wife.
If anyone has part #s for the green bulbs for the locker stability etc switch’s would be cool.
I replaced mine with what I thought was green but are orange.
Funny the bulbs looked light green but they were orange when lit up. 977D1DD7-15F7-4C41-81F6-C545B43DE8CB.jpg
    Definitely liking the truck!
Hope the frame fails in time so I can keep it!!
