Yellow DRL ?

    I'm getting used to my new-to-me 2015 Taco. I'm waiting for an owners manual to show up that I got from flea-bay. In the mean time, I'll try to best to keep the silly questions to a minimum.

    I was messing w/ the light stalk, trying the DRL position for some dusk driving. When I came up on a vehicle in from of me, I didn't see my headlight reflection. When I got home I go outside of the truck to inspect and saw that only the yellow bulbs that I thought were maker lights, lit up.

    I started thinking that maybe the PO put yellow bulbs in there, but when I called the local parts place that correct DRL bulb is an
    $40 3157A /4157A ST BP SilverStar 27-Watt High Performance Signal Light
    3157A. So my question is- when did Toyota stop using a lower voltage to the headlights as DRL and switched to a silly yellow bulb? How the hell is that a DRL?

    Ive now been driving the truck for a month, it's a decent vehicle bt it just seems so "basic" even compared to my 3rd gen T4R Limited. Hard to imagine that a 21 year old SUV is more luxurious.

    When the stalk is set on the drl only the yellow light comes on, it’s also your blinker. You have to turn the headlights for them to be on. Oh , Daytime Running Light.
