its not the same.. the stuff i bought is not precut.. but what i have is not for sale :) i put it on my fog's with 2500k nokya bulbs and they are YELLOW yellow. looks really good i think. Was hard to install on a 2012 fog light... removed the lights and used a lot of heat to kinda 'stretch' the laminx over the light to avoid wrinkles... it's a 3 person (or 2 person with bench vise) job.

it's much brighter in the sunshine...

I ran the yellow bulbs for a year (they burned out a few weeks ago)...but for as much fog as we have here I want more yellow.

I know people that make "custom sunglasses" (WTF? Yeah, right, that's what I said).

So anyway, they use RIT dye on the poly lenses ($1.29)...
I picked up a box last week and will do an SBS if anybody is interested.

So w/ this method, you're not "painting" the lens, but dyeing it, so in theory should be impervious to rock chips and such (to a degree)...and I would think that if you didn't like it, you could bleach them back...

Only problem I have in doing this is time.
My wife is driving my truck all the time and I keep getting stuck w/ the damn S2K.

I'll post up the mod when I get to it, or if anybody else who gets to drive their own truck and wants to try it, have at it.
(follow the directions on the package is what I've been told).
More time in the dye, deeper color.

Ok, the RIT dye doesn't work (or I couldn't get it to).
I'm assuming these are polycarbonate lenses, which takes some acetone mixed it the dye bath to work...but it still didn't.
Also let them soak over night.
Guess I'll be in the market for some spray.

I had putco 3000k bulbs on my previous car and loved them . Had DDM 3000k hids but they had a greenish tint , I didn't like them .

I have a set of putcos waiting to be installed , I might put some yellow film or paint over them aswell this time .

Funny, i just threw a 3000k hid kit in there like 6 years ago. Had them in 3 trucks now. Mine were perfect yellow color. They're like 35 bucks from ddm tuning with bulbs. Ive bought from them a bunch of times and never had an issue. Put a set in my s4 a couple years back too. Maybe you just got a bad set of bulbs?

Maybe , I see others had green light issues when I googled . Honestly I hate DDM and wont buy from them again, had issue after issue every couple of months. I had better luck with EBAY hid kits.
