On my way to work when a big pterodactyl (think it was an owl) come out from beside the road. Apparently I was faster than him. At least it was only the windshield.

UPDATE: Upon further inspection I hit the bird with the top of my HomerTaco Raptor grill, then it slid across the hood and hit the windshield. Minor scratches on grill, nothing that won't buff out. A testatament to Homertaco's craftsmanship. Grill is 100% okay.

I went back and got the wife's car. Drove the area twice and did not see the bird. Hoping to get pics to see what damage I did to it. I was probably going 55-60 when I hit it. Got some glass inside the truck.

Repped for the title of the thread!

I've killed a bird with my bumper before. Made a thunk at 60mph and slowly slid over the hood and the cab. Laughed my ass off.

just yesterday a wild turkey barely cleared my worktruck. it was flapping for it's life. i was rooting for him..(her actually, i think)

i am amazed at the damage. the owl is dead, and i am 90% sure we cant keep dead bird of prey parts. illegal, i think.

glad you didnt freak and crash the truck!! well done.

Yea if you don't find a dead bird leave quick and lock the doors because he's out there and he's pissed.

I had a similar experience about 2 months ago. Early morning driving my kid to school. Saw this "thing", I thought it was an owl too, just as it hit the corner of the windshield and upper frame...didn't break anything, but talk about the friggin "pucker" factor...!!

No time to pucker. I remember seeing big ass wings flapping...thinking flap you mother flap...then smack.
