A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Washing (and drying) is one thing -- buuuut, salt water is quite another. We were on vacation in Florida -I had a rental dodge van with the smart key. Went swimming -got out --no start. I looked inside (the key) --tons of saltwater corrosion --more than one swim by someone else besides me. Salt water corrodes the heck out of stuff.
Rental company had to come tow the van away ,and leave me another van.
I don't know why they did not just bring the spare key?

Not sure. The dishwasher has a rinse aid to prevent hard water stains.

Depends who owns the vehicle (Corp or Licensee), the key could be in another state or county. In Hawaii, the cars can’t go far so the spare is usually stored at the Main airport location, but in the rest of the states, that is a different story. When I worked in the rental car industry, they came with separate key fobs so they would never issue them with the rental, now that almost all are either integrated key fobs or smart keys, must be difficult to keep track of all the keys and keep them from getting damaged by tourists. :angrygirl:

Now, that’s using your head. Better idea than the ziplock.
