We do offer strut and coil assembly for $90.00. It comes with new coil isolator, bushings, washers, and strut mount for both sides. This makes it one complete bolt on unit for easy installation.

Got the rear shocks from Rock Auto within a few days and installed them yesterday with not much trouble. The old ones were 12 years old so they didn't want to come off easy but I got it done. Rides WAY better now. Thanks, folks! I love having this resource!

Now, what about the front ones? I would like to stick with bilstein to match the rear. Definitely want a pre-assembled unit to bolt off and bolt on. I checked the links in this thread but didn't see any of the vendors selling the billsteins pre-assembled.

I also wanted to get them pre-assembled, but a couple people charge upwards of $100 for just getting them assembled, and fully assembled ones cost way too much. You're gonna want to have to do them yourself, as I may have to do.

@HeadStrong Off-Road does offer assembled shocks, it's an option you check off when selecting the product. They assembled my 5100s/OME 811s for me. I believe they charge $90 for it

We offer free shipping on all of our items but strut and coil assembly cannot be added to the cart since it changes the way that the struts and coils are packaged thus affecting the shipping rates. We can provide the strut and coil assembly however we would have to rework the shipping costs. Since that is the case we do offer a shipping credit of $24 since that is what it would cost us to ship the strut and coil on their own.

I have been wondering this as well. I currently have Monroe shocks on front and back and am looking to replace them here soon. They are old so I was thinking of replacing the springs with some original TRD ones, but if I don't have to why spend the money?

If the shocks are toast because of age/miles, chances are the springs are pretty tired as well. Personally if I was going to be replacing tired shocks I'd just spend the extra money on the springs and also replace the hardware. This will provide you with a fresh start and will give you the best possible ride. Your call though

Do you assemble the billstein struts and springs? I'd like to make it bolt-off bolt-on. Didn't see that option on your website. In fact, I haven't found anywhere with pre-assembled billstein front struts. Found Monroe, KYB etc and then it's higher end lift type stuff which I don't want/can't afford anyway.

I should note I do not want any lift, factory ride height for 2004 TRD V6 XtraCab, manual trans

Bilsteins don't come pre-assembled, you either have to put the coilovers yourself, have someone else do it, or buy from the vendor mentioned above. The Bilstein 5100's are great since you have the option of adding a lift, and they can be set at a 0' lift. You're going to end up having some amount of lift since the factory coils and shocks have been worn out over the years.

One more thing, I was looking at getting a Bilstein 5100 front D558 and rear D560 package. The product description states that the front can provide "0 to 2 1/2″ lift" and the rear "work great with 1 to 2 1/2″ lift." Does that mean I'll have to set the front and rear at 1' inch lift so the truck won't be raked (with the front higher than the rear since you can't set the rear at 0")? I want to get as close to the factory height as possible, but I like the option of a lift.

Only the front 5100s are adjustable, the rears are not. If you adjust the fronts to have .85" - 2.5" of lift, and you have a stock rear then you'll only be lifted in the front. To lift the rear, you need to either buy new leaf packs or do an AAL (add a leaf)

If the front is lifted, wouldn't the truck be raked upwards if the rear isn't adjustable? That's a little strange.
I don't know much about suspension, my bad haha.

Yeah, that's why if you want to lift the truck you should also put an AAL in the rear. I wanted 2" of lift so I got the 5100s all around, front's set to .85" with 881 coils. I put a 3 leaf AAL pack in the rear and got closer to 3" in the back.

Okay say I don't want a lift at all, just keep it at the factory height. What would I do in that case?

You could do the 5100s all around, just keep the fronts set to 0". If you leave the leaf springs alone in the back, then you won't see any lift.

You'll probably want new front coils too as those tend to get saggy over time. Just the stock TRD ones Toyota uses would work fine.

Like someone else mentioned, you might see a little bit of lift even with this setup because old suspension tends to sag some.

Same with the rear, if your stock leaf springs are flat or sagging they should probably be replaced and you may see some lift in the rear as fresh leaf springs should be arched up in a "U" shape.

The only off-roading i'll ever do is if I somehow drive into a ditch on accident. I mainly use mine as my daily driver and occasional load. I only have about 80,000 miles on my '98. Would I have to replace the coils too? How bad would the leaf spring sag be if I didn't replace them?

The only reason I'm going for the 5100's is because everyone on here seems to have a cult-like following for them (har har). I was looking at cheaper Monroe quickstruts since they already come with the coilovers installed. What's the advantage of the 5100's over say the Monroes?
