Yes, I know. Another question about shocks...

Nothing really, 5100s are basically just adjustable 4600s (or whatever the stock Bilstein shock is that TRD uses on 1st gens). People on here like them so much because they are an inexpensive way to lift your truck the right way (suspension lift).

The front coils and rear leaf springs don't last forever, over time they will start to sag and should be replaced. No need to upgrade to anything over OEM if you're priority is to keep it stock.

Oh that makes a lot more sense! Thanks.

Now I'm probably gonna get crucified for asking this...
but what's the point of a lift besides aesthetics?

They charge $90 to pre assemble the Bilstein adjustable 5100's with whatever spring & setting you want it at. If you don't want to do it yourself, that's your best bet. But if you don't want any lift there's no point to buy adjustable shocks unless you want to have the option of lifting your truck in the future. Good luck!

Some people only like a lift for aesthetics, but if you use your truck off-road it can be very practical for better ground clearance and approach/departure angles.

Hey OP so what shocks did you go with? I assume mine are original with 15**** on them and I need new ones all around. I dont want to do a lift but I do want ones that are good both on and offroad. I know people are going to throw suggestions on where to get them from, I am going to buy from @RockAuto and my friend said I can use the spring compressor at his shop.
