    Noob here, 1st post.

2 weeks since the last reply. I say do it.

I've been considering pulling the trigger on a new Tundra, the 0% had my blood boiling, but after much thought I decided it wasn't worth the loss. I bought my 01 DC new, then put on a SC/hdrs/exh/top/Ivan Stewart wheels etc. Only got 65K on the odo. Crazy to get rid of it. Gonna breath a little newness into it though. Been cruising the forums trying to decide a mild lift. Mostly for looks, maybe a size larger tires next time.

I never put on a 7th injector but that might be in the works too.

Thanks for the input, man I wish that I were the only owner of mine tacoma, then I would for sure know what it is capable in terms of longevity.

Thanks again and good luck with your lift.

i hope so. i have just dropped a grand into mine. most of that going for new tires all the way around. i have 265.000 on mine. it uses alittle bit of oil, but still purrs like a kitten. there are no leaks and it does not smoke. so i'm guessing i'm losing the oil internally. maybe a quart every 5000 miles.

    Post up your progress

I'm eyeing up a cheap kit because I dont really offroad. Just live in the snowbelt.

    But for $700...

looks better than a spacer/shackle/rear shock kit for $250-350. I mean, if your gonna spend an afternoon under the truck, go the extra couple hundred and make it count. Always worth it in the long run.

If spinning wrenches is something you enjoy go for it. It will break you can fix it. If you just want to drive your truck and never work on it I'd run the other way.

    Best of luck

    Thanks everyone!

Yeah It really sucks spending the money and all and it will definitely set me back for a bit but I made sure to work it into my budget and I have a plan so I think for now at least I feel ok about the decision because it is going towards something I enjoy and will be able to enjoy it for probably a long long time, I also know that I am going to be happy with the truck in the end.

here is what it looked like before the lift and tires. there were a few things that I had done to it at this point: 20% window tint, Spectre Pro Fab Air Intake, and I swapped out the chrome grille with a black one (I still have to paint the paint the chrome surrounding the park lights, I am not even sure yet if I like the new grille in general though)

I definitely agree, and the lift your looking at I think would be a great option for you, Just make sure you shop around for a while and are confident in your research... it sounds like you already are doin that though, Good luck!
