Can someone please explain to me how a 1/4" thick top plate coilover spacer will give you a 1/2" lift in theory? And I know it depends on front end weight added accessories etc. lol

Think about it like a lever. There is a pivot point at the control arms, right. Ok by adding a 1/4" spacer at the top of the pivot point, it increases the "travel" of the farthest end of the "lever" being the wheels and in turn raises the truck height without over preloading the springs. Think about it like a see saw. If one end of the pivot point is longer than the other, the long end will allow you to pick up more weight on the short end because the long end is acting as the lever. Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more. It's just a little hard to explain without a hands on approach.
