Sorry to hear about your truck, bud! Hope you get it fixed up quick. Hopefully there isn't any frame damage, depending on how fast he hit your rear.

It wasn't by chance a lowered, riced out, red cobalt was it? If it was, I hope it was my co-worker on his way back here. Douche can't drive to save his life.

Haha no, it was a base, white, beat up Cobalt. And it's safe to say that it will no longer be on the roads (at least not with a clear title).

Damn. Well, good thing it won't be on the road anymore though. I was REALLY hoping it was him.

No money, all went to truck...
I would love to see the cobalt that hit the hitch. Hitch damage is always awesome.

See, frickin american cars screw us all up.

The shop is quick today - up to about $9k now in damage, now that he's got the bed done and prices for the OEM factory (not dealer installed) hitch figured out. That hitch is $1100 by itself!!

    This.

If it was a factory hitch, its bolted on, not welded.

This shitty mentality is why we all pay so much for insurance. Let's hop in the ambulance and sue someone just to make money.

Totally agree. I am going to fight like hell for a new frame, but at this point we don't know if it's bent or not. The hitch itself might have taken all the brunt. But I've already been planting the idea in the insurance company's head that I'm not going to want a replaced frame.

EDIT: By new frame, I mean in the estimate. Ultimately I would prefer it be totaled at this point. It was a great truck, but after the hit it took, I do not think it will ever be the same.
