Yet another Base Model question

I was thinking of getting some OE floor mats because of those holes they have in them, I hate when mine aren't lined and look like someone pretty much rubbed something in with their feet. Here is where it gets lame, I go and look, finally, at the floor and wouldn't you know, THERE'S NO PEGS for the holes in the OE mats. So ... yes I can still get the OE mats BUT I'm going to be pissed since they won't stay put. I was thinking velcro the mats but since people step on on them like they're putting out a cig. it would be useless ... would it? How do you keep the mats in one place. I have some cheap ones from the dealership, they look thin but for now they are holding up (imo they are like rental car mats). I am going to be switching, but haven't decided on what mats to get. Anyone have ideas on how to keep my current mats in place? I want all of them to stay put.

 

Can you not just buy the carpet/mat hooks from Toyota?

Yes you can. Mine didn't come with hooks on the passenger side, so I bought some from the dealership. I think they were like $3 dollars a piece. I'm not sure if the OP even has holes in the floor for the hooks, but I don't see why he would not.

But, if it were me, I would probably save up for some weathertechs as well (which is what I did)

Well after cleaning the int. more I noticed that I DO have the holes for the pins (yes doing things under the influence is NEVER good ... and now you know, lol). But there are not holes for the passengers side like ilg said. So I feel stupid posting this and please to the mods delete this thread while I put my head down in shame.

 

okay before this is deleted though, how would I go about keeping the other three mats put? Never liked the weather tech mats. Could I still use velcro to hold them in place? I was thinking to also make holes in the carpet and buy more OE pins but then the carpet would get torn up from all the stress from the movement.

 

I say velcro, dont cut holes in the carpet, it'll just get torn up

 

wen to go find some velcro at Osh, pretty cool but I would like to find some heavy duty velcro, will have to sew/glue them on as well.
