@hx989 I'd read you did the same repair on pump. Was wondering if you could more details on this fix. Tia

My '06 did it about 7-8 years ago and then it stopped on it's own after about a year.

sorry everyone, no pics or videos, sorry. Best I can show you is on this image. You'll know which bolt area is fitting into the timing cover. I indicated three different bolt areas, its one of them (both sides)

I used the Fel-Pro valve cover gaskets. The valve cover gasket seemed fine, but the little round ones that go in the top of the valve cover for the bolts that go thru the cover and into the head I was less than impressed with. Too soft/rubbery IMO, although they are not leaking to date. I DID NOT use any other sealant with the valve cover gasket, except for the small area near the front of the head where the service manual indicates to place some sealant.

Just closing up this thread as I now realize I forgot to say if it worked, covering the area in a gasket sealer worked like a charm. After 20+ thousand more miles no more leak. DO NOT PAY THE $3000 dealers request for this job as if you get yourself a $15 gasket maker you can easily do this job yourself.
