In the market for a tonneau hard cover and looking to spend no more than $800. The Gator FX3 seems to be a good deal. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Lots of heat and rain where I live in the summers, so needs to be waterproof. (It doesn’t snow here I live)

I looked at half a dozen different hard fold Tonneau covers before deciding on a Lomax. Do a search for Tonneau covers and read the reviews of the various covers.

For the Lomax, these threads provides a lot of information, I suggest you look through thoroughly to see the pros and cons if you consider this one:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lomax-hard-tri-fold-tonneau.607175/
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...le-at-got-exhaust.627706/page-7#post-24021930

You can get a significant discount on the Lomax from Luke Kyle at truckalterations.com (I bought mine from him) or GotExhaust here in the forum. You can get the covers in Matte black, Black Urethene, or diamond plate I went with the Lomax Professional and I'm quite pleased with it, it rained for the last few days and no leaks. Wasn't a hard driving rain and i wasn't driving, its not uncommon for covers to get a little water near the tailgate area which isn't sealed that well at the edges, not the covers fault, that's not a concern of mine if that happens.

    Good luck!

I have the Lomax tonneau too from @GotExhaust. Pretty solid. Nothing will be totally water proof but nothing in mine has gotten wet. I've got a few drops of water in the corners but everything stays dry. I've had it about 2 months.

You can't go wrong with either, both good guys. Luke doesn't push it here though, and I kind of like that. I gave him a call, asked a bunch of questions to make sure i got the Lomax Pro and not the regular Lomax in diamond plate. He answered them all, sent me the paypal invoice, I got my cover quickly at a great discount, good guy.

I suggest to look very closely at how they mount. All seem to use generic mounts and 1/2 really suck, Ie require you to relocate the OEM accessory rails just for their crap mounts, or use less than optimal mountings that take up a ton of room in the bed to release. IMO For 3td party the leer seemed to be best, but PITA to find. I ended up waiting to find a used OEM simply because the mounting is way superior to any aftermarket.

Thank you all for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you all.

@zooyorkajd if we can assist you with finding a cover that suits your needs and budget please feel free to message me. For the price range you would like to stay in, I highly recommend the Lomax and the tail gate gasket to keep it as water proof as possible.
