Yet another, valve cover change Q (2000 Taco, 3.4, manual)

    So, yes, another valve cover gasket question for a novice who will be changing them.

    To use or not to use a sealant for the corners when using Toyota made in japan gaskets.

    Some people say yes, some people say no, the dealer says no.

    Otherwise, I've got most things in order; torque specs from the manual, Toyota parts, time, tools, garage, most diagrams, video.

    In a nutshell-I'm confused about using sealant/or not, and also (major) replacing the cam seals. I've noticed they have some caked oil on the bottoms of the full circle seal. I have the torque specs for reinstalling the bridge, but does anyone have experience or advice in changing those? Ive only found a few pics, but nothing very descriptive. I wasn't even planning on changing them until I read further, and noticed the slow leaking that has taken place over time.
