I have an '02 TRD ext cab 4x4 and was thinking about doing 35's on it. Do you think I would be able to squeeze them under if I did a 3" suspension (Skyjacker or Toytec) and a 1" bosy lift (Daystar)? And before everyone jumps on the body lift. I looked into the Daystar lifts, they are direct replacements for the factory mounts just 1" taller. I have spoken to a few guys who have them and they are all very happy.

Truck won't be used for any really heavy duty off roading. Just some weekend warrior stuff.

If you have an aftermarket front bumper, and are okay with cutting your fenders (the actual fender, not the plastic), you can make it work.

    Not always true

Depending on your rims and lift will determine if you have to cut also the actual tire.

You wont be able to run 12.5 wide tires in stock rims without spacers.

I am very against body lifts but I doubt you would have to trim much fenders with that on

Ah, I wasn't considering the body lift...may not have to actually cut the metal fenders....may....

I still think it's going to rub like a bitch though without some serious trimming.

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
I've seen 35/12.5s stuffed into stock 4runners and Tacomas with no lift...why I have no clue.

    Alot of hacking involved? Yes.

You'll need to do some trimming with 3" lift.

All depends on what you are willing to do. There was a jeep in 4wd magazine last year that had 38s on stock suspension.....they just basically cut everything that would be in the way of the tires off with a sawzall.

And I've never seen a Tacoma running 35s with no lift. I would actually love to see a picture of that.

Basicly, you will need aftermarket rims or at least 1.5" spacers and be ready to do some triming

My buddy and my other buddy.

    He bought a 91 4runner from Arizona..had 35/12.5 BFG MT's on it..stock suspension..front torsion slightly cranked a tad.

My other buddy...98 Tacoma reg cab, hacked to fuck trail rig..35s with no lift(he got a lift now..but he has pics ill show you guys without). Reason being he bought 35s because he didn't want to buy more tires when he wanted to lift it..and truck was already banged up some..so he hacked bedsides up and demolished front fenders...sawazll = new shape of fender.

    :D

I'll post pics later when I'm home

Does anyone here currently run 35's on their first gen? I know there probably isn't a huge off road advantage to running them over 33's. But I think they would look great!

Anyone here using the Skyjacker coil over lift kit? Comes very highly recommended by my local shop. Say that between the King Coil springs and the heavy duty shocks the Skyjacker he believe it is the best quality lift out there.

lol kings are way better then skyjacker.

But if you want to run 35s you need like 5'' of lift

According to Skyjacker. Their coil over set up uses King Coil coils and there shocks are HD and direct fit with no adapters required. Local 4x4 shop says it is the best off the shelf system avail.

Sounds like I will be sticking with 33's though.

As I said earlier. According to sale rep for Skyjacker. They don't make their own coils for the tacoma, they use the king coils. Not sure about the shocks. I will try to contact them again and fin out.
