I had a set of these in 265/75R16 (E-load) put on my truck about a month and a half ago. They weighed in at just under 55 lbs a piece. I haven't seen too much information posted about these apart from a couple of quick photos so I figured I'd chime in with my opinion. I finally got a chance to get some miles on them and take them offroad in Sedona, AZ over the past weekend. Here are my thoughts:

Noise - Yokohama claims they are the quietest true MT on the market and I believe them. They absolutely make noise, as does any MT, but with the NVH in the 3rd Gen it's totally livable and even after 9 hrs in the car yesterday it didn't bother me or my wife.

Treadwear - I've only got about 1,500 miles on them so I'll report back when that number's a little bigger. No noticeable wear so far though.

On-road - They have a pretty soft tread compound so on pavement they actually feel way grippier than the OEM Goodyear Adventures. We'll see what that does for the treadwear. In the rain on the trip home I couldn't tell a change in behavior vs dry. I was very happy with them.

They wandered a bit on the highway at their original 35 psi F/R so I chalk tested them and changed to 37F/34R. Feels much more under control now.

The ride is also not harsh at all. Doesn't feel any different from the OEM tires tbh.

My gas mileage dropped by a solid 2+ mpg in city and on the highway.

Off-road - We saw a lot of rock, some sand, and a fair bit of mud this weekend and barely even spun a tire. They cleaned out the mud well and gripped the rocks like crazy. Unfortunately, with their big voids, they also pick up rocks like crazy. Not the end of the world but always makes me flinch when they come shooting out at freeway speeds. After bouncing around on the rocks all weekend the tread and sidewall look unblemished. No rashes, cuts, etc.

FYI the trails we did were Schnebly Hill, Devil's Bridge, Devil's Bridge again (all the way out to Van Deren Cabin this time), and Broken Arrow.

Thank you for your review of the Yokohama Geolandar G003 tires. I happen to agree with you as well. I have had a set on for about a year on my FJ Cruiser and have been on Broken Arrow 3 times. Nice, fun short trail that is beautiful. My wife wasn't too sure about going up the big rock just before the steps but there was plenty of grip.

We look forward to longer-term reports.

Really thinking about picking these tires up but I think I'll wait a little longer for more feedback on road noise

We're not twisting your arm here but right now you can save $100.00 back by mail with the purchase of four(4) Geolandar M/T G003 tires!

    Details: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/yokohama-geolandar-m-t-g003-go-strong.496241/#post-18892040

As for road noise, this tire is 2.3db quieter than the leading competitor's product (Open Country M/T) so that may be a good indicator for you. I'm still running these on my FJ and don't have any complaints about the road noise, but the tires certainly ride louder than an A/T tire.

This is the first set of MTs I have ever run so my sample size is pretty non-existent. I do consider myself to be easily annoyed by tire noise (a lot of rental cars with budget-friendly highway tires have bothered me). That being said, these make MT noise but it's not as droning as some other MTs I have heard driving around (if that makes sense) and it's toned down pretty well by the upgrades to the 3rd Gen cabin. I don't really have to speak up to talk to passengers and I have asked people on bluetooth calls and nobody has noticed anything. I was definitely expecting worse blindly heading into MT territory.

Plus they look awesome. Yokohama did a great job on the sidewall design IMO and the tread looks akin to the Toyo MT without being a complete copy.

Any other thoughts now that you’ve had em around another month? I’m considering these heading into Black Friday.

We have some experience with the Yokohama G003's and overall they've been a fantastic MT tire. Probably around 4000-5000 miles of testing and very litle wear, maybe a couple 32nd's of tread worn, but very even wear as well.

Noise- Quietest MT I've driven on. (I have experience with BFG KM and KM2, GY MTR Kevlar, Nitto Trail grappler, Cooper STT Pro's, Toyo MT)

Grip: Fantastic in every condition we've encountered, from aired down to 12psi on Sierra Nevada granite boulders and slabs, to NV desert with loose sand and hard pack, and about everything in between. Plus excellent grip and road manners on both dry and wet pavement. Only condition we have not encountered has been snow, but that should change in the next month.

So far I'd highly recommend them and run them on any rig where an agressive tire is needed, but is also daily driven on the street.

After ~4,000 mi I have to say I'm a fan. I have completely gotten used to what little noise they do make, which does not seem to have increased at all. Wear wise, I have not measured the tread depth (will try and do that this weekend and report back) but they seem to be holding up well, especially after trips to Sedona and Baja for some light to moderate offroading. 95% of my driving is Socal highway commuting so nothing too exciting day to day. We're planning on running up to Colorado this winter so I should hopefully have a snow update on the way as well.

Plus they still look badass. I really love what Yokohama did to them appearance wise.

    Basically everything @RelentlessFab said.

Just realized that picture was already posted in this thread...

    Bump with an update.

It rained here in San Diego in early December and these handled standing water well and felt very secure on the highway. The only issue I found was that they did break loose a couple of times going around corners at some intersections. A lot of that could be from the fact that our surface streets hadn't seen rain in a while and were VERY oily/slick.

They have just over 7,000 mi on them now and they're all sitting at a right around 16.5/32" tread depth. That should put me pace to get over 40,000 miles out of them before replacement. I'll be very happy if they hold on that long. Wear is also very even across the tread on all four tires (I've kept them at 37F/34R, cold).

They got a little louder after the first rotation and the 2,000 highway miles for our last trip but they are still very tolerable.

The last trip was up to Crested Butte, CO over Christmas where we saw 5-6" of new snow. I was relieved to find these performed better than expected in the loose and packed powder. I was able to do some reasonably hard braking in those conditions and they never batted an eye. In the ice patches that were forming around town they were about as useless as you'd expect a non-studded, off road biased tire to be. Nothing crazy/scary but you need to plan ahead on stops and be patient on the throttle. I spent most of my time in 2wd btw. These are by no means an all-weather or year-round tire like the Duratrac claims to be, but you can take them up to the mountains for trips without feeling like you're pushing them too hard.

Still very pleased with them overall.

I just put a set of these(285/70r17) on yesterday after getting almost 56,000 miles out of my Toyo Open Country R/Ts which were the same size. It took a while for me to decide which tires I wanted to go with as I really liked the Toyos but they were $330 apiece so, according to my wife, that was an automatic disqualifier. I started looking at the Falcon Wildpeak A/T3W but coming from the Toyos I didn't think they were aggressive enough. I looked at various Cooper, Goodyear, Nitto, and General tires and was convinced each time, on each brand, that I was in but I always found a reason not to pull the trigger. It was during this process that I realized that I really hate tire shopping! So many choices....... The Yokohamas were a late entry into the game and I really liked what I was reading, even though there wasn't a lot out there. I have never had M/Ts before but I liked the fact that these are a little more aggressive then the Toyos I was coming from and they actually weighed in at 1lb less each. Once I found them for $240 a tire I was in. I only have about 30 miles on them so far which was my drive home from the install and there were three things I noticed right away -

    1. The road noise was very comparable to the Toyos which were always surprisingly quiet to me
    2. The on-road ride quality was great, the ride home was smooth
    3. The tires do wander a bit which is something that the Toyos never did. In reality, it's a minor thing but something I noticed as a difference from what I came from.

Time will tell on these but 30 miles in and I'm happy w/ the decision. The tires look great on the truck and I am really looking forward to getting them out on the trail.

A couple of quick items -

Did some winter wheeling last weekend and was very happy with how these tires performed. I was in 2wd for quite a while until losing momentum going up a steep, snow covered, hill and getting caught in a hole but the entire time I didn't once slip. Deep snow, mud, ice they just ate it up. Needless to say, I was impressed.

We've had some wet spring weather recently and I've yet to experience any issues on wet pavement. They feel solid, well planted, on wet roads.

In regards to the wandering, I saw above where the OP mentioned going from 35 psi all around to 37f/34r and it addressed the issue. My tires were at 34 psi all around so I bumped them all to 37 and I no longer notice any wandering. Also, no surprise, my mpg went up by 1 to 1.5.

Always a good time! My worn Toyos got me stuck twice on the trail this winter so these tires were a welcomed change.

    Thanks for the update.
I got stuck the other day at the top of a mtn pulling my heavy Offroad trailer.
Let’s just say I was kicking myself in he butt for thinking I could try out some WP AT3s, when I have a set of new KM2s at home. Been getting used to all this computerized offroad stuff. Coming from wheelin’ and FJ80 to this has been a bit of a curve for me.

    HE WITH MOST MILES;

How's the noise level as miles increase?

2 sets of STT PROs in a row. No reason NOT to do 3rd set. Really good tire... But. Wanna try something different. I bought the truck almost 5 years ago with Yoko Geo A/Ts. Liked em as street tires.

285/75r16....5 of em. PROs can be on the truck and good for about $188.19 less...best deal so far.

    PROs are not quiet.
