All finished and painted. My first try at any fab work. I would do things different next time but it was still really fun learning.

That'd be great, I have an idea for my rear bumper and somewhat idea for the mounting. But I'm open to other ideas

That looks really good. I like the design...low profile, functional, attractive! Kudos!

Went on about 35 miles of trails in the George Washington national forest. Really fun camping trip. Nothing really technical but I had a crazy scare. I was just finishing a bit of trail when my brake pedal went to the floor. Oh crap. Found the fitting at the front left caliper leaking. A rock hit it at the perfect angle and backed it out just a touch to make it leak. Tightened it up and good to go!

On the toytec website there is an option for a differential drop kit that apparently helps out axle and drive shaft angles etc.... Did you do anything like this? From your experience is it necessary?

I don't have a diff drop kit on my truck but I don't think it would hurt. I haven't had a problem. I will say my cv inner boots have been torn and I plan on putting some high angle boots on when I replace them. They are original cv axles so I knew it was only a matter of time.

Ok. I'm going through this phase on my truck where I want the smoothest ride. I'm definitely not going long travel because of cost. I'm looking at getting some more rear travel (not cutting through the bed)

Thinking of remounting my rear shocks and replacing the leafs with something nice.

    All pro 3' leaf pack
    Deavers
    Alcan (wheelers) 8 pack

I have the icon smoothies in the rear so looking for a good match and some pics

I think those are Trail Gear tube doors, their design is very strong but I don't think there is any kickout so protection for the side of the cab is minimized. Either way it is an improvement in the summer.

@YotaBoater very nice truck man, digging the red! :)

Thanks man! They are trail gear. No real kick out but they are super nice during a summer day.

You will be watching the weather more often though

Curious how do you handle the door speaker wiring? I love the idea of cruising around with open doors, just wondering how much of a hassle they are to set-up.

They are super easy. The door has two plugs. One for speakers and one for locks and Windows. Unplug and unbolt door. Reuse the factory hardware to mount the tube door. Install the strike plate for the latch. That's it really. Nice to have two people though.

I'm gonna attach speaker pods to the corners of mine and put in a quick connect (already eliminated the factory speaker wiring cause it's 22gauge and doesn't like 250watts). Probably only gonna put in 4.5in speakers for tube doors though.

I finally got my deavers installed. They make a huge difference for sure. I put some 1.5 inch day star shackles I had already. I may put the stock shackles back on

    Pics are coming!
