I'm a little miffed that I can't get my new tune flashed, Yotawerx?

 

I can't do anything about upgrade pricing set for upgrade from the original OVTune flasher to VFTuner.

All Magnuson owners should get VFTuner Lite as part of the purchase though, no? So it shouldn't matter.

 

Are you using the orange dongle that came with your supercharger or do you have an older Tactrix cable you're using?

 

If you get the Yotawerx tune for NA engines, and then add the Magnuson later, do they still charge you for the new tune?

 

Yes, they are completely separate tunes for very different applications.

The Tacoma NA and FI tunes have their own individual prices and unique tune identities.

Well, I think we're pretty much there.

Dyno is scheduled at 6/11 at 9am (I think). Some time in the morning to hopefully keep the temps as close to 80F or below as possible for @SK808

Lol not likely, I'd still need to build them.

Although, it's actually feasible. It's not a full tune build like the 90mm...could start them early to get ahead of them...

 

OVT folks that were dongleless back in the day paid $79 to upgrade to vF. Personally, I did not hesitate, nor did many others.

There was a time recently when folks could upgrade to vF Lite for free, which was similar to OVT Flash Manager. Flash tunes only no editing. That free period might have ended though.

Yes, and due too Mat's stupid ass process and 24hr turn around to responses and the back and forth "Do you still have some # from a year ago" its still a Mat patented Idiocracy level event to what should be a simple simple deal.

You seem fairly active on the VFT forums, are you catching on to a theme yet that the customers hate the process? Almost like maybe the reason he can't be on here talking shit on how its the customers fault oh and the crazy good support amiright?

 

You should have seen the process before the 1.6.0 update. Send an email with your info, he sends you a master key (which at the time I joined required about a week's wait). Input that master key and you're good. But, if you install on another computer, or your license poofed into non-existence, you had to remember your login. If not, each attempt counted as an install. Next thing you know, you're down, sending in a ticket, and waiting for him to reset your install count.

Now, once that Tactrix serial is linked to you, you can install vF on as many computers as you'd like. No install counts. The software will detect the serial and link to you every time.

Is it perfect? No, but it never will be. Software designers have to go through so much to protect their property, and unfortunately security is inverse to convenience. Increase convenience, you decrease security. Increase security, decrease convenience.

 

I go back to OVT 1.4 according to the files I'm going through.

Thats my point, every F-ing time ive flashed its been a stupid process and this third time is exactly like every other OVTune/VFTuner flash
