This weekend I installed the NGK DILFR7K9G plugs and Stryker Tune and all I a can say is magnuson should be ashamed of themselves, the Stryker tune is just better in every way. I am super impressed with how the truck drivers now

I upgraded to the Stryker tune about two months ago. I was really frustrated with the Magnuson tune and its inconsistent power, rev hang, etc. This tune is absolutely incredible; it has made a world of difference. I drive up and down I70 in Colorado all the time, and it allows me to do so now in 5th/6th gear the vast majority of the time (instead of having to hit 3rd/4th frequently) and has kept my gas mileage around where it was naturally aspirated (16 mixed / 18-19 highway). Towing our small camper (~2000lbs) with bikes up top around 250 miles each way this weekend was a breeze with the significantly increased power, even in some strong headwinds. Two big thumbs up on the YW Stryker tune from me. Truck feels much faster than with the stock Mag tune and much, much more fun to drive.

Hey all.. chiming in on my first two weeks of the Stryker tune and SC.

TLDR: There's really no point in owning the SC without this tune. It's truly incredible. Throttle response, shift logic and power are all crazy better.

Toyota ECU learning experience is another matter. I don't know if this is unique to me or that nobody really talks about it but the 2 weeks of ECU re-learning has been a pain in the ass. The best way I can describe it is that the truck switches between two modes during this process.

Mode A: (calling this the Toyota slow mode)
    - default shift logic (no engine braking on hills, early early shifting)
    - way less power

    Mode B: Stryker logic
    - better shift logic
    - truck will downshift going downhill ( I LOVE this. Why the hell would I want the truck to be at 1.5k rpm on a steep decline, Toyota?)
    - way more power from 1.5k rpm and up

During this ECU learning phase, the truck will randomly switch between these modes, even while driving. It's really astonishing how dramatic the differences are and how the truck just decides to switch back and forth while I'm on the road. I noticed this behaviour with previous ECU tunes but with the SC on there, it's way more noticeable.

    Day 0-3
    - all stryker tune. I'm in love with this truck!

    Day 4
    - slow mode engages. wtf

    Day 5-15
    - the truck will oscillate between these two modes. Sometimes a day or so apart, sometimes on a long road trip. I'll drive 300km in stryker mode, then fill up, and bam, slow mode.
    - thought it could be bad gas, etc. but then it will switch back to stryker mode.

It seems to be settled now but I'm going to give it another week and see what happens. i've done over 2k kms so far, mostly highway

To be clear, it doesn't sound like you're describing or reporting a true limp mode correct? This just your description of your scenario you're encountering?

True limp mode is very different, and basically completely undrivable as cylinders get shutdown.

There was odd Reversions for some folks on the older vF 1.05b Tunes. That seems to have gone almost completely away on the 2.0 Tunes and any tunes based on them. The fact that it is cyclical for you is even stranger.

After a recent experience with a local persons newly purchased, used Taco, I would go over things, esp wiring related, and be sure that everything is properly connected? The person that I was helping had a loose factory ground that was making the Taco throw fits. Also back in the day, there were some odd happenings that were blamed on a tune that ended up being even worse, rodents.

I'm not suggesting that this isn't the tune or a particular reaction to it, as some Tacos are just a little bit different, but I think it might be worthwhile to poke around?

I finally got around to swapping out the plugs in my truck. I didn't have any problems with the stock plugs that only had 23ishK miles, but thought I'd swap to the colder plugs for that peace of mind...

I went with the part number in the original YotaWerx guide because the price was on point. Gapped to .029"

For those concerned with doing this post supercharger, don't be. This is all I used and it took less than an hour. The impact driver def isn't necessary but makes it quick to pull the bolts out of the coil packs and the 2 brackets you have to get out of your way. That black extension has the "wiggle" tip so you can "bend" your reach in tight spaces, it makes a world of difference, lol. Then the one 12mm wrench to loosen one hard metal line near the brake master cylinder so that you can pull that furthest coil pack out (looks like brake line, but didn't dig around to confirm, probably is though.) The scribe saves your fingertips when trying to push the clips in to pull the connectors off. I can't seem to get them to lift high enough just by pinching the end, I always get up under the latching end and just pry it up enough to slip the connector off. Oh, and I use a magnet to pull the plugs out of the tubes. Easy peasy

Aiming for Friday to release 87mm Stryker tunes (w/o fuel rails, although those are pretty much done too, but I want to do some more stuff with those) :hattip:

Upgrade price for 87mm pulley tune pack from 90mm pulley tune pack will be $30.

Dyno session pending for 87mm pending/getting scheduled, along with probably new runs for 90mm since our posted dynograph for Magnuson 90mm vs Stryker 90mm was performed in hot temperatures (85F) with heavy tires (295 mud-terrain tire)(ambient temp, elevation, and vehicle tire info posted on YotaWerx dynograph).

Upon release for the 87mm, a 90mm Stryker tune update and overall Stryker tune sale will coincide for a few days, with Stryker 90mm being marked down to $500 for the sale for the tune pack, and flash service down to $800. Specific dates will be announced when sale details are finalized.

On the NA side, our Halloween sale will be running from Friday, 28 October - Tuesday, 01 November. All tune packs and flash kit bundles will be 5% off, as will flash services.

That wasn't the plan but it is indeed an available option...I had been thinking people could just reach out to receive it if they'd like.

The YotaWerx Tuning network continues to grow, both with recent additions and future partnerships nearing finalization. Customers in many more regions will benefit from this more localized availability of support. Reach out today to inquire about Toyota Tuning Solutions for your vehicle.

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/e...ICU4wo_Y&ll=25.4990565840439,-97.72491065&z=3

TPS Motorsports in Santa Clara, CA is a networked tuner for YotaWerx Tuning. They kicked off their joining the network last week with multiple Stryker supercharger tunes for the 3GTacoma, giving those drivers new reasons to fall in love with their trucks all over again.

Support soon to come for the following areas:
    - Northern Arkansas
    - Kansas
    - Santa Ana, CA (SoCal)
    - Albuquerque, NM (not too far from us in El Paso but having local support for this area is still a huge benefit to people there)
    - Waco, TX area
    - Baja California
