Still running the 2.0 tune. Nothing negative to report from me. The tune is great. Truck feels nimble and quick. It shifts when it should be shifting depending on how far that pedal is pushed and what the load is on the truck at the time, not just because of a certain rpm. Awesome tune and support.

Anyone heard from Marc? I ordered a tune/tuner, right before all the emissions/check number drama came up - shot him a message early this week asking about that and didn’t hear back. A day or two later the VF dongle arrived but nothing in there other than a thank you note..no details or anything else about the tune/software (I am assuming I need files and/or software sent to me). These guys generally seem to be pretty responsive so I am not sure if I am getting spam foldered or what.

Unless I missed you during the Black Friday sales craziness, you were emailed an invoice completion confirmation along with some additional information and a zip file with a tune pack, along with our tune guide. I'll look through right now to confirm.

just went back and looked at emails; looks like my reply to your question about emissions was still in drafts and not sent. Sending now. Sorry about that.

Did you get the tune flashed? Curious what your thoughts are and how you like it.

Not yet. I'm electing to get a 2nd ECM to leave my original unaltered (I'm trying to make this midwest thing work, and not having emissions is nice, and don't tell my wife that we moved here for buuuut...I'd opt to move us back west if the opportunity presented...), and having a newer 6MT it was quite the hunt to find the correct used one - but I succeeded today!

With shipping and life in the mix, I'm probably a couple weeks out..which actually puts me close to one year of ownership, which is what I said I would wait before non-OEM mods.

I don't blame you. I hate the midwest winter season. Good idea getting the second one just in case. Two people bricked in the last week that I've read about. Thankfully, they were able to get their trucks going again. Not a fun experience, at all.

I flashed the Blackhawk 2.0 beta about a week ago. I have the vftuner flash kit, little computer experience, and have never had an issue with flashing. Just follow the simple instructions and you should be good. In the rare case it does brick they provide additional instructions to fix it. The Yotawerk tuning folks have been great to work with, are responsive and want to provide a good product.

The 2.0 tune is awesome. Smoother shifting, better acceleration, responsive, pulls like a beast. It gives you a completely different truck vs stock. It really is quite amazing.

After the holidays, and our long driving trip, I plan on flashing the factory stock tune just to see how different it is from the Yotawerk tune. Comedy for the sake of comedy.

From my perspective, if you're sitting on the fence ... just do it. I consider it the best single mod you can do to your truck.

It's unreal how good this tune is. I've tried them all, and also prefer Blackhawk. The difference in power you can feel at any speed. It's also not jumpy when you just give it a little bit of pedal. I don't know if you've seen this or not, but it may be worth reading.

    It's crazy isn't !!

I've told several Tacoma friends to drive my truck, you won't believe the difference. They were polite but quietly thinking I'm fibbing or the gains are some token small improvement. Then they drive my truck and walk away with a grin plastered on their face, asking how they can tune their truck today.

I've monitored the brick post some. Thanks for the reminder. It is a concern but I'm of the opinion it's a very rare occurrence. If it happens to me I'll fix it like anything else on my truck. Also, I only flash while in my driveway in case something does happen.

It sure is. I’ve only had that happen once, and it was when I let a guy from work drive my truck. I keep telling him he needs to get this tune on his truck. So far, he says he doesn’t want to spend the money. My wife has said this is the only tune where she can feel this much acceleration when merging onto the highways here. It totally transformed this truck for me.
I sure hope those that had that happen to their ecu’s were a very rare occurrence. I’m the same as you, I will only flash a tune in my garage just in case something goes wrong. Better safe than sorry.

And for full transparency—my truck is completely stock including tire diameter.

I can't imagine what the supercharger folks are getting. I would get in so much trouble with that bad boy.

Same with mine. Only bit of added weight is steps, skid plate and tonneau cover.

Haven’t kept track but has the updated Yotawerx for supercharger tune been updated?

just curious on the ETA for the 2.0 tune final? I've been testing it and loved it, definitely a head above the blackhawk 1.0. But due to the lack of an AGM option I've found myself having to flash back to the 1.0 tune for fear of running my battery down :(

    thanks in advance!
