No I have not, only thing I've done so far is just verify ECU codes. I'm going to have to find a manual or something.

You are half way there. When connected, go to engine ecu, one of the buttons on the left to get to data. In drop down, select all or primary data to capture d4s pids and hIt the red button

Good morning from the YotaWerx Tuning Team!

On 06 February 2024, we got on the dyno with a 2019MY 3GTacoma 3.5L for some final adjustments to the Tacoma 3.5L “Blackhawk 2.0” tune, a complete overhaul and update from the original.

The numbers below were measured at the hub rather than the wheel, and all posted dynographs include relevant details regarding ambient conditions and other variables. Most notably, these runs were all conducted with 91-octane and in 4th gear for a true 1:1 gear ratio. Due to using a hub-dyno, the vehicle’s tire size is removed as a variable.

For the stock calibration baseline run, gearlock was added to an otherwise stock tune file to ensure consistency with where each pull for each calibration could begin.

    YotaWerx Tuning “Blackhawk 2.0”; 91-octane + E30 (30% e85)

With peak torque achieved nearly 1500 rpm sooner in the powerband paired with a wide range of overhauled parameters including throttle control, timing optimizations, and transmission control, “Blackhawk 2.0” delivers an unparalleled and dramatic change in drivability and performance.

Using the above dynographs for reference, peak power and torque gain from stock to “Blackhawk 2.0” with 91-octane is demonstrated to be +28whp/+5wtq, and +38whp/+11wtq with a 30% e85 blend.

These numbers do not tell the full story, however. If one evaluates the lower rpm range between the stock calibration and “BH2.0” on 91-oct (see below), an estimated gain of nearly +25wtq can be observed at 3120rpm. This observed delta portrays a significant difference in usable power, lower in the powerband where the typical Tacoma driver spends most of their time.

These tunes are available across the YotaWerx Tuning Network with official release slated for 10 February 2024, with a 10% discount available through 19 February 2024.

    Any thoughts on 87 octane?

If enough requests for 87-oct graphs are requested, we'll happily run them. I'm certainly not opposed to it at all.

A prior dyno session a few weeks ago was conducted with 87-oct for development purposes, but I'd have to review the graphs to quote accurate numbers since I don't remember them off the top of my head.

Personally, I don't need the dyno. I just need to know if the tune is optimized and tested thoroughly for 87 octane.

Looking forward to trying this out. I want to see how the final release compares to the beta. I'm betting it's a winner.

It is. The BH2.0 calibrations come in two octane learning versions: a default "OL" for 87-93 and then a "Prem-E30", set up for 91 to 93 with 30% e85 (6.3gal).

    Because I'm so incredibly dumb...

Anything other than a tune needed to run E85?

Not a dumb question, and I doubt you're dumb.

No, BUT it is important to note that this is for a 30% mix of E85 (which is 6.3gal for the Tacoma's 21gal tank), not 100% fill-up with E85.

We also have additional recommendations for consistently running E30/ethanol detailed in our tune guide.

    Thanks Marc.

That is a very important note. I'm very glad I asked.

I feel like I might have gotten a weird version of the Tune Guide. I did a search in the version I have for "85" and got no results. Another search for "Prem" and no results. Another search for "30" gets 2 results, one is "30 seconds", the other is "Page 30".

I'll email you to see if I can get an update.

So I did this - and all I got was a flat line in my log graph? It was showing live data, so I am not sure what was up with that. Unless this just means it was only in "normal" mode and not doing anything else.

I did hear the cleaning chatter during idle after flashing to the 2.0 tune, so there is that! I'll disappoint everyone and say I legitimately didn't have time* for a test drive.

    * I live in a salt brined dirt road hell, and leaving the neighborhood in a manner that keeps satan's spunk off the undercarriage takes and agonizing 10 minutes...and coming back home takes another 10 minutes...so that quick round the block is a half hour commitment.

You should see a "fence" like picture when driving. Did you run it for 96 sec in Park? If the case, then it is normal to see Port only at idle.

Ah, well MT so idle in neutral, but assuming that's the same. I ran it for the duration of the timer that was at the bottom, something like 2.5 minutes? But doesn't the 'cleaning cycle' only occur at idle, so were I to drive, it wouldn't show up?

You need to drive for 20-30 minutes to see the cycle.

Got it. Well hopefully I can get it figured out next time.

BH2.0 impressions: I like it overall, seems a bit more refined and lively on the highway. But it seems the throttle got a little more dead/numb and taking off from a stop took a step back (mind you I am MT), so that is leaving me thinking I will try the “Active Duty” out. Maybe I do want a touchy throttle!
