This looks very useful. I'm assuming the photos are of a Tundra ... on a Tacoma will the actual box be as wide as possible to fit the bed, overhanging the wheel wells on both sides, obviously with some clearance for the side mounts? Also, is there room to drill though the top and bolt a bike fork mount to the top, assume maybe 1/2" of bolt end sticking through, and still clear the drawers?

    Thanks.

it would really get my attention if you made a cabinet like that that and locks, but rather than a sliding drawer on the inside, were plastic clamshell toolboxes that would be removable to take on a worksite.

The Tacoma bed is 6" more narrow than the Tundra, so the mounting bracket on each side of the toolbox will be 3" more narrow.

There will be enough clearance on top to mount a bike fork mount.

    Love this!

Just a couple thoughts? Any plans for a longer one? It'd be nice to throw a couple rifles/shotguns in there.

Also, sort of echoing previous comments. It'd be great with built in tie downs, and maybe an open sliding drawer for those short and fat people like me who would struggle reaching the back for tie downs.

Just got back from the woods. Chucked a bunch of stuff in the toolbox just to see what's up. My buddy and I both agree that this thing rules. Obviously I'm biased, but I have to say, it's my favorite of all the things we've made since we formed the company. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.

And why didn't I take any pictures tonight with two bikes and a bunch of gear in the truck?? Good fucking question.........

Have you thought about a open top box that is open the entire width of the truck. Shallow like this one but with dividers. Would be great for throwing a bike helmet in one section and stinky cycling shoes and random other stuff in other section. The open top would obviously be for people with Tonneau covers or bed toppers. You could even spot weld a lip inside the box that would allow use of Plano molded plastic storage boxes for storing small items.

I'm waiting for a couple suppliers to fork over their numbers so I can plug them in and total it up. This little beauty definitely isn't a one stop shop, there's a few players involved.

I heard back from neither of those suppliers today, but I did get to go mountain biking, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

I have, and I even posted a preliminary model of that somewhere on TW. That idea is what actually led to this.
