    I just removed the key from the fob and attached each individually....that is an option

    the reason the fob is separating from the key is because something is pushing on the release latch.

    tape it up or jam something into the latch or as others have suggested, use the loop provided on the fob itself.

    I've never had to have a fob. Do you have to have both the key and the fob for the truck to start?

    you must have the fob to start the trucks with the push button start. You only need the key to unlock the door if the fob battery dies. The fob has some sort of Near Field that powers it up if you place it near the start button when it's dead. The key will only unlock the door

    I just used the small ring that came with each fob instead of a full size ring (which doesn't fit)

    be glad you don't have a 5th gen 4runner fob, they don't even include the small hole on the fob itself.

    you actually put your fob in your pocket? I have mine on a carbiner that just hooks onto my belt loop. been doing that since the early 80's before all you whipper snappers thought it was trendy :)
