I like to hear first hand experience and recommendations. Much safer buying experience. Nothing worst than buying crap stuff.

Plus @VangaSTL just got the 98510 winch. Kinda want to see what he thinks about it.
Especially the 10k vs the 12k

The 10k and the 12k are the same exact form factor. The difference is just the gearing, so I imagine it’ll pull a bit slower but it’ll be easier on your trucks electrical since it won’t be working as hard. A few friends have the 10k and like it. I have the 9.5k XRC and it’s ok. A good budget winch.

The bumper is rated for 10k so that's what I got :notsure:

I just got a Warn VR EVO-10S for $725. It has a lifetime mechanical warranty, and 7 year electrical. I was looking into off-brands as well, but the warranty really sold me.

The Harbor Freight winch only has a 90 day warranty, from what I can tell.

It has a wireless and wired remote included.

    Just something to consider.

Smittybilt warranty is pretty decent too. I wanna say lifetime mechanical and 5 year electrical. My winch started making some gross sounding grinding noises after a trip and they just sent me a whole new winch.

The one this past weekend? Surprisingly I didn’t have to. Both the other guys in my group had to use theirs but I made it through most of the stuff better off than they did luckily.

No problem! Let us know what you get. I tested the Warn, and it seems really nice. Install was also super easy.

If you get the Warn, you have to get the Epic Sidewinder also. Otherwise you're not cool!

Looks good! I don’t remember you having that on there last time I saw you.

I’m throwing on the streamline when I get the truck back from the shop

I dove in big time this year.. Coilovers, rear springs and shocks, UCA's, skids, streamline bumper, winch, and ditch lights all installed over the last month!:goingcrazy:

I was impressed with the fit and quality of the streamline bumper. I'm sure the Tacoma version will be just as nice.

You have to do the high clearance cuts if you haven't already(i skimmed through, but didn't notice it in this thread)

I'm totally happy with how everything is turning out! Now I just need to get it out on some trails!!!

Yeah it looks great!! And I did the wing cut off already. Makes the front end look much better.

Nice! I figured. I just did it yesterday. It took about 30 minutes. The hardest part was taking a saw to the bumper on such a new vehicle!
