For those of you keep crying out loud that trucks need to be "bare-bones" because that makes you "tough" driving it....Well, you wish is delivered - Welcome the SR package...might have Manual crank windows, no heater, no AC, no ABS....NOTHING.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Can't believe the 4 cylinder isn't coming with a manual. Who wants to drive a 4 cylinder with an auto? I've driven 4 cylinder autos and they are sluggish as hell in my opinion, cannot maximize the power band at all.

That's what I want, bare bones and cheap. I worked a life time to build up my assets and I have not intention of handing them over to Toyota or any other company for a truck load of automatic crap.

Solid, cheap and maintainable, that's what smart people buy and then run them for 15 or more years. I drove my 94 T100 18 years before selling it to someone else for 1000 bucks. Never had a loan for any car or truck I have ever had and it's going to stay that way. Poverty is for those with a loan on a truck. I don't borrow money, I loan it and expect interest.

If the 2016 SR package is going to be anything like the 2014-2015 SR's package, you'll be getting a very nice truck for "base model" prices. I might consider one if it comes with basic features like cruise control and remote power locks.

I own a 2014 SR and it is not bare bones. Has some really nice features. It was a step up from the Base model at the dealer.

Those aren't base model. They has color matching, pwr blinker mirrors, fogs, decent wheels/tires. I call BS on those being base, I had base 05 AC, it came with none of those things and less.

You're comparing apples to oranges with the current 2nd gen I4/4-speed auto. I've test driven the new Colorado mated to their 6 speed auto, it's light years better than our current I4/4-speed auto offering. I'll willing to bet the next gen I4/6-speed auto out performs the current I4/5-speed manual which is why toyota is dropping the manuals.

They are considered base models with SR "appearance package". I took the first 3 photos (MGM, Black, and barcelona red). I've been in the market to buy a new truck for the last 4 months. I was going to purchase one of them until I caught wind of the 3rd Gen after joining TW.

For example the first pic was a 2015 Access cab MGM SR listed for $27,125 MSRP
    which includes:
    I4/auto trans
    4x4
    color matching
    color matched blinker mirrors
    black aluminum wheels.
    basic AM/FM/CD radio

    it did not include:
    cruise control
    intermittent wipers
    remote keyless entry system
    sliding rear window

Compared to a base model (non-SR5) AC with convenience package listed for $27,305 MSRP.
    which includes.
    I4/auto
    4x4
black unpainted front bumper mirrors and fender flares
    black rear bumper.
    intermittent wipers
    cruise control
    basic AM/FM/CD radio
    remote keyless entry system
    sliding rear window
