with the production changing to Texas I don'T think we'll see a big redesign soon!

They will wait until the market gets better

we might get auto down and up windows in the meantime

I was going to wait until 2013 as well, but I've lost a little confidence in my current Mitusbishi sedan. I pulled the trigger and am awaiting delivery of a 2010 TRD DC OR.

Toyoland.com reports a new Tacoma for the 2013 model year. If it's more fuel-efficient, I'll trade my 2010 in for the 2014 model. A lot of the first model years (in general--across brands) have a little trouble off the line.

You can always get a good deal on an 09 and just trade it in for a 2012/2013 when the time comes.

I took these pics because I had just painted my stock wheels to look like the Moto metal 951's wheels. Any way like I said earlier you asked for more pics, and these are the only ones "allowed" on this fourm! LOL!

The real deal is that there are 100 "Our Frontiers are stronger faster and better than Tacoma threads over there" to our 1 lone thread.

The bottom line is with the tacoma you dont have to have internet pissing contests about which truck truly rules the segment. Proof is in the puddin'. I think they sell 3-4 Tacomas to very one frontier sold?

The market has spoken...The market said Tacoma. Case closed.

Well I Google "new toyota" and I see a lot of spy phots of tacomas with a fabric cover over them, to hid the new body style. I thought if there road testing them now, they should be avalible soon....right?

    Sheese I thought were 951'B's as well....And I own a set of 951's!!

Those custom home brewed wheels rock.

Nice job. I actually like the utilitarian nature of the Nissans....They seem simple and rugged where our tacomas are a bit glitzy and fancied up.

I do not like the resale on the frontiers tho...Man they aint worth crap 3-4 years down the road.

28 grand for a loaded up Frontier thats worth 11-13 grand in 3 years? WTF.

Spend 30 on a Tacoma and 3 years later it will still do 18-19 grand!
    PIC00440_3a1abfa3eec9ecafd4a9b513057e40988b701acd.jpg
I leased this 06' TRD Dbl cab for my business back in late 05'. I put 35,000 miles on the truck beating the dawg shit outta of it pulling a trailer all over the west coast and through the Colorado mountains. It musta spent 30,000 downshifting on hills as it really didnt like pulling my lil' trailer in OD. I didnt do nothing to the truck cept change the oil and beat its ass daily.

After two years of abuse I realized I needed a bigger stronger truck for my work requirements.

I wanted a Dodge cuz' they were cheap and had stiff frames and figgered a Hemi would thrive out on the Hwy with a little trailer.

Bought that loaded up TRD sport 4x4 for $100 over invoice and it was like $27,500 or so. Sold the Tacoma with 35,000 hard miles a years later for 21 grand which was more than my lease payoff!

    Try that with a anything.....

Sadly the Hemi Dodge I bought after selling the Tacoma wasnt the right truck for what I do either. It ate gas like crazy around town and everytime I got a flat tire it would destroy a $400 20" rim! I bought the Bling edition by mistake...
    PIC00657_34dc2980c2dbdd3b1cc118cf87c65cf782501331.jpg

All the gain I had made on the Tacoma was turned to dust on my Dodge...i luckily snuck outta of it before it was thrashed to badly and bought what I should have bought in the first place. A Cummins powered Diesel Ram. 100,000 miles on my Diesel ram in 2.5 years and the only thing I have ever done to that truck was routine maintenance...The paint is actually better than my Tacoma as it dosent chip and fall off and not a single thing has ever failed on my Cummins Ram. Not one.

    It was an expensive lesson.

Dont bring a knife to a gun fight!!

You want resale? Buy a tacoma. You wanna pull trailers all over the country? Buy a diesel! You want a simple utilitarian rig thats a little cheaper than a Tacoma that you plan on keeping for many many years and dont care about resale? Consider a Frontier!

Well thanks man, If they look legit to a moto metal owner... that was the best $8 I ever spent on black paint! Well I considered a Frontier, and bought one.
Now I wish I would not have. I don't think all frontiers are like mine but, the issues its had, I want out of it.

I tried explaneing it like this in the Frontier fourm.

If you went to a resturant and got food posioning, would you go back? Even if 99.9% of the people who eat there don't get sick, and the odds of you getting it again are next to zero, would you still eat there. I would guess...no.

When I said that, the whole fourm ganged up on me, like I was that anti-crist at a jesus convention. Oh, well I was getten a taco any way. Shit, they would have eat'en me if I stayed any longer!

Welcome to TW, and screw those other Nissan owners. I like others agree you should pull the trigger. If you like to mod your truck which it seems you do, it will take an extra year or so for the aftermarket goodies to come out for the "new" Tacomas. Seriously I don't think you can beat the 2nd gen. Get an 09 or 10 and get some of the upgrades. It will be well worth it, again if you want a new one when the new body style comes out you can trade your Tacoma would be worth good money. I always was leary to buy the first year of a style change, second year always seems to have some of the bugs worked out.

Yeah, good call one the first year of a new model. I went to my local Toyota dealer this past weekend, And believe it or not the had 1 taco in the show room that was sold all ready! They told me that the cash for clunkers wiped them out. It would be at least 3 weeks till they get there inventory order.

Shity I gotta wait. I think your right, I'll get an 2010, due to new '09s are M.I.A. So Now I wait. BTW I'll be getting a DC 4X4, and I want the one with the hood scoop too. Any advice on which opitons I should ask for, or which ones are the best bang for the buck?

Welcome to TW. I went from a Frontier to a Taco too. You will not be sorry. Best move I have made in a long time.
